The Radio Operator is responsible for maintaining effective communication between the rig, vessels, helicopters, shore-based offices, emergency services, and other relevant parties. Key Responsibilities: Comply with applicable communication and radio operating procedures. Receive and transmit operational and emergency messages accurately. Support helicopter and vessel movement coordination. Operate and monitor marine, aviation, and rig communication systems. Maintain communication logs and records. Maintain confidentiality of sensitive communications. Support emergency response and mustering activities. Report equipment faults and coordinate repairs. Disseminate weather, operational, and safety information as required. Maintain continuous communication with vessels, helicopters, shore bases, and relevant authorities. Test and maintain communication equipment. Monitor emergency and distress communication channels. Qualifications Knowledge of marine and/or aviation communication procedures is an advantage. Minimum of OND / NCE in Telecommunications, Radio Communications, Electrical/Electronics Engineering, or a related field. Experience: operating VHF/HF/UHF and other communication systems. Relevant radio communication certification/licence as required by applicable regulations. 2–5 years of relevant experience: as a Radio Operator, preferably in marine, offshore, or oil & gas operations. Valid offshore safety certification and medical fitness where applicable.
