We are recruiting to fill the position below: Job Title: Volunteer Scriptwriter Location: Nigeria (Remote) Employment Type: Volunteer Hours: Flexible, approximately 10 hours per week Reporting to: Social Media Team Leader The Role As our Volunteer Scriptwriter, you will be responsible for developing scripts for IIR’s social media videos, campaigns and other digital content. We are looking for a creative Volunteer Scriptwriter based in Nigeria to join our social media team and help communicate IIR’s work through clear, engaging and impactful digital content. You will work closely with our Social Media Content Strategist, Proofreader and Video & Publishing Officer, under the direction of the Social Media Team Leader, to take content from initial idea through to publication. Key Responsibilities: Write engaging scripts for short-form videos, Reels and other social media content. Work from content briefs and campaign plans developed by the social media team. Incorporate feedback from the Proofreader and Social Media Team Leader. Turn project updates, legal information and campaign ideas into clear and accessible scripts. Work collaboratively with other members of the social media team to ensure content is consistent with IIR’s objectives and organisational voice. Develop strong hooks, calls to action and messaging for digital campaigns. Adapt writing style and tone for different platforms and audiences. You should have Ability to work collaboratively and meet agreed deadlines. Interested candidates should possess a Bachelor`s Degree with 1 year experience. Creativity and an ability to develop engaging concepts. An interest in social justice, access to justice or nonprofit work. Good attention to detail. An understanding of writing for social media and digital audiences. Strong written English and creative writing skills. An ability to communicate ideas clearly and concisely.
