The role serves as the primary SSHE focal point for drilling project activities, ensuring compliance with company standards, developing and implementing safety Min Qualification: Degree Experience: Level: Executive level Experience: Length: 10 years Language Requirement: English Working Hours: Contract - 8 to 5 Applicant Location: Nigeria Job descriptions & requirements: Responsibilities: Serve as the Company's SSHE representative for offshore drilling projects, rig sites, and rig move operations. Develop and implement SSHE plans, site induction programs, emergency response plans, and safety initiatives. Monitor contractor compliance with Company SSHE requirements, Operational Integrity (OI) standards, and Operations Safety Plans. Conduct OI compliance audits, site inspections, safety assessments, and rig inspections. Support incident reporting, investigations, root cause analysis, and implementation of corrective actions. Deliver safety training, facilitate Drill Team SSHE meetings, and promote a strong safety culture. Monitor safety performance, identify trends, and recommend continuous improvement initiatives. Collaborate with drilling teams, contractors, Operations Superintendents, and Rig Safety Advisors to ensure safe and efficient project execution. Requirements: Bachelor's degree in Petroleum Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related engineering discipline. Minimum 6 years of experience: in drilling operations, SSHE, or a related oil and gas engineering role. Strong knowledge of drilling operations, SSHE regulations, and Operational Integrity (OI) principles. Experience: conducting safety audits, inspections, incident investigations, and risk assessments. Excellent leadership, communication, stakeholder engagement, and influencing skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook. Ability to work independently in remote offshore environments and under demanding operational conditions. Fluent in written and spoken English. Demonstrated experience: managing drilling safety programs and contractor compliance. Strong understanding of industry regulations, emergency preparedness, and drilling safety best practices. Proven ability to work in offshore or remote environments with demanding schedules. Physically fit to work in offshore drilling environments, including climbing, standing for extended periods, and working in varying weather conditions.
