We are recruiting to fill the position below: Job Title: Fleet Manager Location: Akure, Ondo Employment Type: Full-time Job Summary This role involves managing vehicle maintenance, driver performance, fuel consumption, regulatory compliance, fleet budgeting, and asset utilization while minimizing downtime and operating costs. The Fleet Manager is responsible for overseeing the organization's fleet of vehicles to ensure safe, efficient, and cost-effective operations. Key Responsibilities: Prepare and manage fleet budgets, including maintenance, repairs, fuel, and vehicle replacement. Monitor vehicle performance, inspections, and repair activities. Coordinate procurement, disposal, and replacement of fleet vehicles. Respond promptly to operational issues affecting fleet availability. Investigate vehicle accidents and coordinate insurance claims when necessary. Manage the day-to-day operations of the company's vehicle fleet. Ensure compliance with transportation laws, safety regulations, and company policies. Negotiate contracts with vendors, maintenance providers, and suppliers to achieve cost savings. Supervise and evaluate drivers, ensuring adherence to safety and operational standards. Develop and implement preventive maintenance schedules to maximize vehicle availability. Manage vehicle registration, licensing, insurance, and documentation. Monitor GPS tracking systems and optimize vehicle routes and utilization. Track fuel consumption and implement strategies to improve fuel efficiency. Analyze fleet performance data and prepare regular management reports. Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) Regulatory compliance. Vehicle downtime. Driver performance and safety compliance. Fuel efficiency and fuel cost management. Accident and incident rates. Qualifications Relevant professional certification in fleet or transport management is an advantage. Valid driver's license. Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Transportation Management, Business Administration, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field. Experience: 5 - 15 years of experience: in fleet management, transportation, logistics, or a related field. Experience: managing commercial vehicles and supervising drivers is preferred. Skills and Competencies: Excellent organizational and planning abilities. Proficiency in fleet management software, GPS tracking systems, and Microsoft Office applications. Budgeting and cost control skills. Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities. Strong leadership and team management skills. Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
