We are recruiting to fill the position below: Job Title: Associate Pharmacist Location: Lagos Summary The Associate Pharmacist helps make sure every patient gets the right medicine quickly and safely. The Associate Pharmacist also helps track medicine supplies and makes sure that all medications are sent out on time and meet our quality standards. They work at our pharmacy locations and support our Pharmacy Technicians to prepare, label, and dispense medications for patients seen in our clinics. They check prescriptions carefully, package both short-term and long-term medicines, and record all details correctly in our system. Responsibilities: Preparing and dispensing medications: Read and check each prescription carefully before giving out any medicine. Label and package medicines clearly so patients know how to use them. Make sure the medicine, dose, and instructions are correct for the patient. Help patients understand how to take their medicines and what side effects to watch for. Keeping patients safe and following the rules: Follow all pharmacy laws, labeling rules, and safety procedures. Handle medicines safely and store them properly to keep their quality. Check for wrong or unsafe prescriptions and report any concerns right away. Protect patient information and keep all records private. Managing records and using pharmacy systems: Use the pharmacy's computer system to record prescriptions and track medicines given out. Make sure all data entered in the system is correct and easy to review later. Keep all patient and medication records updated and accurate. Follow security rules when handling patient information in electronic records. Managing stock and supplies: Report when medicines are running low or expired. Help track the stock of medicines and supplies in the pharmacy. Assist with ordering, receiving, and arranging medicines on shelves. Work with senior pharmacists to avoid waste and keep enough stock available. Supporting patients and promoting good health: Encourage patients to come back for check-ups or refills when needed. Listen to patients' questions and give simple, clear answers about their medicines. Support patients who have problems remembering to take their medicines. Share health tips and preventive care advice, like eating well or staying active. Managing time and accuracy: Make sure medicines are ready and sent out within the agreed turnaround time (TAT). Keep daily logs and reports accurate and up to date. Follow timelines to help the pharmacy run smoothly and avoid delays. Check all work carefully before completing any task. Learning and improving: Read about new medicines and treatment guidelines to stay informed. Ask senior pharmacists for help when handling unfamiliar prescriptions. Look up reliable medical information when unsure about a medicine or condition. Join team discussions to share ideas on how to improve patient care and workflow.
