We are recruiting to fill the position below: Job Title: Storekeeper Assistant (Maternity Cover) Location: Abuja (FCT) Employment Type: Temporary Contract Period: Fixed Term (Maternity Cover) Main Duties and Responsibilities: Helping MSF staff carry heavy items, if necessary. Informing superiors of any incident that may occur in the course of his/her work Performing tasks as per the Storekeeper's instructions. This includes but are not limited to the following: Ensuring cleanliness of common working areas Preparing outgoing items in a clean and optimized way by appropriately packing, sealing and labelling goods, assisting with recording the exits on stock cards and project form, and ensuring good quality of cold chain when needed Ensuring that goods are well organized and stored in a clean area to be visible and traceable i.e. assisting in the stock inventory, storing items according to nature and use, and ensuring that the temperature in the store is appropriate and items that require cold chain are correctly stored Receiving goods arriving to the store, checking its status/condition and amounts in the waybill Ensuring proper use, storage and maintenance of the equipment and tools provided Carrying out basic maintenance of the store, ensuring security conditions (keeping unauthorized staff out, locking, etc....) MSF Section/Context Specific Accountabilities Ensuring proper use, storage and maintenance of the equipment and tools provided Performing tasks as per the Storekeeper's instructions. This includes but are not limited to the following: Assisting in the stock inventory. Ensure all stock movements are accurately documented in stock cards, and warehouse management systems Preparing outgoing items in a clean and optimized way by appropriately packing, sealing and labelling goods, assisting with recording the exits on stock cards and project form, and ensuring good quality of cold chain when needed Assist in organizing and maintaining proper storage of materials according to warehouse standards Receiving goods arriving to the store, checking its status/condition and amounts in the waybill. Supporting unloading and movements of goods in the warehouse Report inventory discrepancies and incidents to the Storekeeper Ensuring that the temperature in the warehouse is appropriate and items that require cold chain are correctly stored Follow organizational policies, procedures and warehouse management standards. Ensuring cleanliness, safety, and security of the warehouse and storage areas Minimum Required Skills and Qualifications Education: Minimum (HND) in Business Administration, Purchasing and Supply, Logistics, Inventory Management, or a related field is an added advantage. Basic knowledge of Microsoft Excel and inventory/store management systems is desirable. Experience: Knowledge of proper bookkeeping and inventory management Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Familiarity with standard concepts and best practices in a stockroom or warehouse environment Desirable experience: in MSF or other NGOS in developing countries.
