We are recruiting to fill the position below: Job Title: Account Officer Location: Victoria Island, Lagos Employment Type: Full-time Industry: Interior Design & Furniture Manufacturing Job Summary We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Account Officer to join our team. The ideal candidate should have strong numerical and analytical abilities, excellent attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced interior design and furniture manufacturing environment. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, processing transactions, monitoring expenses, supporting financial reporting, and ensuring proper financial controls across the organisation. Key Roles & Responsibilities: Assist with payroll-related accounting activities where required. Follow up on outstanding payments and maintain proper records of customer and vendor accounts. Track company expenses, purchases, and payments and ensure proper documentation. Liaise with vendors, clients, banks, and other stakeholders regarding financial transactions. Support the preparation and monitoring of budgets and expenditure. Prepare and process invoices, receipts, payment vouchers, and other financial documents. Carry out other accounting and administrative duties as assigned by Management. Monitor cash flow and maintain accurate records of cash transactions. Provide financial information and reports to Management as required. Maintain organised and up-to-date financial files and documentation. Ensure compliance with company financial policies, procedures, and internal controls. Assist in preparing monthly financial reports and management accounts. Review financial documents and transactions for accuracy and completeness. Reconcile bank statements and company accounts regularly. Record and maintain accurate financial transactions and accounting records. Support audit activities by providing relevant financial records and documentation. Identify discrepancies and escalate financial issues to the appropriate authority. Monitor accounts payable and receivable and ensure timely reconciliation. Experience: & Qualifications Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment. Professional accounting certification such as ICAN / ACCA or ongoing qualification is an added advantage. Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines. Strong organizational and time-management abilities. Excellent attention to detail and accuracy. Good understanding of basic accounting principles and financial reporting. B.Sc. / HND in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or a related discipline. High level of integrity, confidentiality, and accountability. Strong numerical and analytical skills. 3–5 years of relevant accounting experience. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software. Good communication and interpersonal skills.
