We are recruiting to fill the position below: Job Title: Qualified Accountant Location: Lagos About the Role You will be responsible for ensuring accuracy, compliance, and providing valuable insights to support strategic decision-making. As a Qualified Accountant, reporting to the General Manager (Finance and Accounts), you will play a crucial role in managing and overseeing the company's financial records and reporting. Key Responsibilities: Reconciling bank accounts and other financial recordsin our countries of operation. Developing, mentoring and supervising junior accounting staff. Ensuring compliance with relevant accounting standards (e.g., IFRS) and local standards in our countries of operation. Preparing and analyzing group budgets and forecasts. Contributing to the continuous improvement of accounting processes. Liaising with external auditors and regulatory authorities in our countries of operation. Conducting internal audits and ensuring adherence to internal controls in our countries of operation. Performing other accounting duties as assigned. Managing the general ledger and ensuring its accuracy. Overseeing and managing the day-to-day accounting operations. Providing financial analysis and reporting to management. Developing and implementing accounting policies and procedures. Preparing and analyzing financial statements (e.g., balance sheet, income statement, cash flow statement) in our countries of operation. Preparing and filing tax returns and ensuring tax compliance in our countries of operation. Qualifications and Experience: Strong communication (both written and verbal) and interpersonal skills. Strong organizational and time-management skills with the ability to meet deadlines. Proven experience: in preparing and analyzing financial statements. Professional accounting certification (e.g., ACA, ACCA, CPA) is mandatory. Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills. Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other MS Office Suite applications. Proficiency in accounting software and ERP systems (e.g., Microsoft Dynamics, Sage, QuickBooks). Strong knowledge of accounting principles, practices, and regulations (including IFRS). Excellent attention to detail and accuracy. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. A Master's degree in Business, Accounting or Finance will be an advantage. Maximum of 8 years of progressive accounting training and experience, preferably from any of the global big four accounting firms, a Free Zone environment or a similar industry.
