Gardeners will be responsible for the cultivation, care and maintenance of lawns, flowers, trees, shrubs and other landscaped areas within the school environment. Gardeners will also ensure that gardening tools and equipment are properly used, cleaned and stored, while observing all relevant health, safety and environmental practices. Qualifications Knowledge of basic plant care, crop cultivation, animal or poultry care, depending on the specific role. Ability to work independently as well as effectively as part of a team. Practical knowledge or experience: in gardening, farming, poultry production or a related agricultural field. Relevant agricultural, horticultural or vocational training will be an added advantage. Knowledge of hygiene, health and safety procedures. Previous experience: in a similar role will be an advantage. Ability to carry out physically demanding outdoor work. Ability to follow instructions and maintain a clean and orderly work environment. Ability to use and maintain basic gardening, farming or poultry equipment safely. Good observation, organisational and time-management skills. Personal Qualities Successful candidates should demonstrate: Honesty and a strong sense of responsibility.
