We are recruiting to fill the position below: Job Title: Kitchen Steward Location: Lekki, Lagos Employment Type: Full-time Summary The Kitchen Steward is responsible for maintaining cleanliness, hygiene, and sanitation standards in all kitchen and food preparation areas. The role ensures that all kitchen utensils, equipment, and work areas are clean, organized, and available to support efficient kitchen operations while complying with food safety and health regulations. Key Responsibilities: Cleaning and Sanitation: Ensure all waste bins are emptied, cleaned, and properly lined. Wash and sanitize all dishes, glassware, cutlery, pots, pans, and kitchen utensils. Clean and disinfect kitchen equipment, work surfaces, walls, floors, and storage areas. Dispose of waste in accordance with hotel policies and hygiene standards. Equipment Handling: Report faulty equipment or maintenance issues promptly. Operate dishwashing machines safely and efficiently. Ensure kitchen equipment is cleaned after use and stored appropriately. Food Safety and Hygiene: Maintain high standards of personal hygiene and grooming. Prevent cross-contamination by following proper cleaning and sanitizing procedures. Ensure cleaning chemicals are used, stored, and handled according to safety guidelines. Comply with all food safety, HACCP, and health and safety procedures. Store and Inventory Support: Assist in organizing and cleaning storage rooms, refrigerators, and freezers. Support stock rotation and ensure storage areas remain clean and orderly. Assist with receiving and storing kitchen supplies when required. Operational Support: Maintain cleanliness in staff dining and back-of-house areas as required. Support chefs by ensuring clean utensils and equipment are always available. Participate in deep cleaning schedules. Assist with basic kitchen preparation tasks when assigned. Health & Safety: Use personal protective equipment (PPE) where required. Immediately report accidents, hazards, breakages, or unsafe conditions. Follow all occupational health and safety procedures.
