St. Dominic Catholic Hospital is inviting applications from highly experienced, compassionate, and professionally competent Registered Nurses with a miximum of five (5) years post-qualification clinical experience: to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate should possess sound clinical judgment, excellent communication skills, leadership ability, and a passion for delivering safe, ethical, and compassionate healthcare services. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering high-quality nursing care, supervising junior nursing staff where necessary, ensuring adherence to clinical best practices, and contributing to the hospital's commitment to excellent patient-centered care. Key Responsibilities: Administer medications and treatments accurately as prescribed by physicians. Collaborate effectively with doctors, pharmacists, laboratory personnel, and other healthcare professionals to ensure coordinated patient care. Conduct patient assessments, monitor clinical conditions, and develop appropriate nursing care plans. Participate actively in quality improvement initiatives, staff meetings, and continuous professional development programmes. Maintain a clean, safe, and therapeutic patient care environment. Uphold patient confidentiality, professional ethics, and the hospital's core values at all times. Respond promptly and effectively to emergency situations within the hospital. Maintain accurate, complete, and timely nursing documentation and patient records. Provide comprehensive nursing care to patients in accordance with professional standards and hospital policies. Ensure strict compliance with infection prevention and control protocols. Assist physicians during medical procedures, emergencies, and ward rounds. Educate patients and their relatives on disease prevention, treatment plans, medications, and healthy lifestyle practices. Monitor patients' vital signs and promptly report significant changes to the appropriate clinician. Education: & Professional Requirements: Bachelor of Nursing Science (B.NSc) is an added advantage. Registered Nurse (RN) qualification. Valid Nursing and Midwifery Council of Nigeria (NMCN) practicing license. Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is desirable. Advanced Life Support (ALS/ACLS) certification is an added advantage. Minimum of 2 - 5 years post-qualification clinical experience: in a reputable hospital. Required Skills & Competencies Ability to multitask and work effectively under pressure. Compassionate and patient-centered approach to care. Strong knowledge of nursing procedures, patient safety, and evidence-based practice. Sound knowledge of infection prevention and control practices. Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary healthcare team. Good documentation and electronic medical record (EMR) skills. Leadership and supervisory abilities. Strong organizational and time management skills. Excellent clinical assessment and critical thinking skills. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Other Requirements: High level of integrity, professionalism, and accountability. Ability to work rotating shifts, weekends, public holidays, and respond to emergencies when required.
