We are recruiting to fill the position below: Job Title: Fleet Officer Location: Nigeria Job Summary To collaborate with the Head of Transport and the Fleet Manager to create a strategic plan for performance improvement measures to maximize the use of the company’s trucks Job Responsibilities: Track vehicle and fuel usage and consumption rates; ensure that potential problems or fuel misuse are raised to management. Prepare a Fleet report for your manager on a daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly, and yearly basis. Report any HSE issues/accidents/near misses to your line manager immediately. Construct all emergency response plans and perform safety inspections and audits. Ensures compliance with all policies, procedures, and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), with recommendations for action and continuous improvement. To ensure the dispatch of all loaded trucks under his/her control and track their movement until they reach their destination. To check/track the movement of your truck using the control facility to confirm your telephone conversation with the driver. Ensure strict compliance with the daily maintenance schedule of trucks to improve operational efficiency. Plan journey routes, design a road hazard map, and meet delivery schedules Track vehicle registration and insurance, and work with procurement to ensure these are always renewed promptly. Recommend optimal transportation modes, routing, equipment, or frequency. To ensure that the truck is not used for any illegal activities or hauling of passengers by the driver. Ensure that the trucks have all the safety elements required by both State and Federal law. Qualification/ Experience: First Degree in Logistics and Transport Management or other related field. 3-5 years’ work experience: in similar role. Experience: with fleet maintenance systems Experience: with compliance requirements: for the transport industry. Experience: with fleet telemetry/Truck tracking systems. Competences Required: Able to demonstrate a proactive approach to the position. Extensive experience: in analytical work in a multi-location environment.
