We are recruiting to fill the position below: Job Position: Social Media Manager Job Location: Arepo, Ogun Employment Type: Contract Position Overview We are seeking a creative, strategic, proactive, and results-driven Social Media Manager to manage and grow the organisation’s social media presence across relevant digital platforms. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and implementing social media strategies, creating and coordinating engaging content, managing online communities, increasing audience engagement, and using social media to strengthen the organisation’s brand, visibility, and reach. The ideal candidate should have a strong understanding of social media trends, digital storytelling, content creation, audience behaviour, and social media analytics. Key Responsibilities: Develop and implement effective social media strategies aligned with the organisation’s brand, objectives, and communication goals. Manage the organisation’s social media platforms, including content planning, publishing, monitoring, and engagement. Develop and maintain a structured social media content calendar. Create, curate, and coordinate engaging content, including graphics, captions, videos, reels, stories, and other digital content. Work closely with the Programmes, Production, Editorial, and other relevant departments to identify and develop content suitable for social media. Monitor daily conversations, comments, messages, mentions, and trends across social media platforms. Respond to audience comments, enquiries, and messages in a timely, professional, and brand-appropriate manner. Grow the organisation’s online audience and strengthen engagement across social media platforms. Identify current and emerging social media trends and recommend opportunities for the organisation to improve its digital presence. Develop campaigns and social media initiatives to promote programmes, events, partnerships, projects, and organisational activities. Ensure that all social media content aligns with the organisation’s brand identity, tone, values, and communication standards. Monitor competitors and relevant industry accounts to identify best practices, trends, and opportunities. Track and analyse social media performance using relevant analytics tools. Prepare regular social media performance reports covering reach, engagement, audience growth, content performance, and other relevant metrics. Use insights from analytics to improve content strategy and overall social media performance. Collaborate with designers, content creators, presenters, and other team members where necessary to produce quality digital content. Support the promotion of organisational initiatives, campaigns, programmes, and commercial opportunities across digital platforms. Ensure timely publication of scheduled content and maintain consistency across all platforms. Stay updated on changes to social media algorithms, platform features, digital trends, and best practices. Key Performance Areas Performance will be assessed based on, but not limited to: Consistency and quality of social media content. Audience growth across relevant platforms. Engagement rate and quality of audience interaction. Reach and visibility of content. Performance of social media campaigns. Timeliness of content publication. Quality and accuracy of social media reporting. Effectiveness of social media strategy. Conversion of social media opportunities into measurable organisational outcomes. Ability to respond appropriately to audience enquiries and online interactions. Required Skills & Qualifications Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent qualification in Mass Communication, Marketing, Communications, Digital Media, Public Relations, or a related field. Proven experience: managing social media platforms for an organisation, media brand, business, or similar establishment. Strong knowledge of major social media platforms and their respective audiences and content formats. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Strong copywriting and storytelling abilities. Good understanding of social media analytics and performance metrics. Ability to develop and execute social media campaigns. Strong content planning and organisational skills. Creativity and strong attention to detail. Ability to identify trends and translate them into relevant content opportunities. Good photography, videography, graphic design, or basic video-editing skills will be an added advantage. Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines. Strong teamwork and interpersonal skills. Proactive, self-motivated, and able to work with minimal supervision. Strong understanding of brand management and online community engagement. Renumeration Negotiable.
