As a major player in the downstream sector of the oil and gas industry in Nigeria, ESPL has a formidable reputation in the procurement, sales and distribution of petroleum products such as Automated Gas Oil (AGO), Dual Purpose Kerosene (DPK) and Premium Motor Spirit (PMS). We are recruiting to fill the position below: Job Title: Accountant Location: Festac, Lagos Employment Type: Full-time Job Purpose To manage the accounting operations of ESPL by ensuring accurate financial reporting, proper recording of transactions, cost control, and compliance with company financial policies. Key Responsibilities: Monitor expenses and budget performance Manage accounts payable and receivable Vendor payments and payable across the group Perform bank reconciliations Maintain proper accounting records and documentation Maintain petty cash records Record daily financial transactions Monitor operational profitability Ensure compliance with tax and statutory requirements: Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly financial reports Assist during audit exercises Qualifications & Skills Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Knowledge of Nigerian tax laws, accounting standards, and financial regulations. Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks or ERP system) and MS Excel. Must demonstrate honesty, discipline, and professionalism. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision. B.Sc. / HND in Accounting, Finance, or related field (ICAN/ACCA certification or student membership is an added advantage). Good communication and interpersonal skills. 3-5 years relevant experience: as an Accountant in a corporate environment. High level of accuracy, attention to detail and confidentiality.
