We are recruiting to fill the position below: Job Title: Electrical Specialist Location: Lagos (with regular offfshore visits) Job Role Description Are able to provide support and / or guidance for complex Electrical troubleshooting, may participate in constructability and maintenance design reviews and may assist engineering for routine maintenance as well as turnaround, or new project support. Are able to influence without authority and interact effectively across business lines. Should have a sound understanding of safety, health, and environmental requirements: (SHE) as they pertain to electrical equipment. Demonstrates very strong maintenance skills for this equipment type. Demonstrates good communication and interpersonal skills to work with diverse groups; able to network effectively within organizations. Serves as a mentor and provides expertise across the broader organization. Responsible for serving as subject matter expert for specific processes and procedures, technical matters, and electrical equipment. What will you do? Develops strong personal expertise, shares knowledge with others Supports coordination of cost management and productivity improvement plans Provides technical support and input to training development and delivery Implements maintenance design philosophies for Electrical equipment Provides technical support and coordination across business lines Shares Best Practices and provides feedback Serves as a mentor and provides expertise across the broader organization Provides troubleshooting complex issues and operations support Skills and Qualifications Minimum 5 years relevant electrical technician work experience. Minimum of a Higher National Diploma in Electrical, City and Guilds level 4 in Electrical; or equivalent qualifications in an oil and gas industry specific apprenticeship program. Must be a Nigerian citizen, must have completed Youth Service with NYSC discharge certificate or exemption letter. A BSc in engineering or related sciences without a HND diploma is acceptable IF there is already established and verifiable working experience: as an electrical technician in the oil and gas industry for at least 5 years. Note however that this is strictly a technician role. Prefered Qualifications: Good understanding and Interpretation of Electrical, Instrumentation and Control logic Diagrams. Specific technical knowledge on HV & LV power distribution and control networks, HV & LV motor drives and Alternators, Inverters, high voltage cells, variable speed units, Lighting networks, switchgear, Electrical Breakers, Electrical Protection devices, etc Technical Knowledge & Equipment Operation: Previous FPSO experience: preferred Good attention to Detail. Ability to observe equipment performance and detect abnormalities and understanding what next to do; maintain accurate maintenance logs and reports; ability to identify and mitigate workplace hazards. Should understand what constitutes a hazard and control/mitigation. Good knowledge of Instrumentation / Mechanical and Hands-On Skills: basic understanding and ability to perform minor repairs, routine maintenance, and adjustments on equipment; ability to read and interpret transmitters, sensors, gauges, and control valves; familiarity with ESD, Fire & Gas (F&G) systems, and their role in process safety Versatile with basic Work Management Practices, and CMMS (SAP) to raise notifications, manage workorders, and search for materials Ability to adapt, creativity and innovation, good understanding and identification of workplace hazards; analytical and courage of conviction.
