We are recruiting to fill the position below: Job Title: Business Development Manager Location: Agadagba, Ondo Employment Type: Full-time Job Summary The Business Development Manager is responsible for driving the Company's business acquisition, market expansion, and revenue growth across the oil & gas, EPC, construction, and related sectors. The role will lead the identification, development and conversion of viable business opportunities, while coordinating the complete business development and tendering cycle from opportunity identification through contract award. The position will also support business development activities across the Group and develop strategic relationships with operators, EPC contractors, government agencies, consultants and other potential clients. Key Responsibilities: Business Development & Opportunity Generation: Conduct market intelligence and competitor analysis to identify emerging opportunities and market trends. Identify, scout and develop viable business opportunities within the oil & gas, EPC, construction and related industries. Convert identified opportunities into commercially viable business prospects. Develop and maintain a robust pipeline of prospective projects and clients. Proactively monitor the market for upcoming projects, contracts, tenders, shutdowns, maintenance opportunities and strategic partnerships. Tendering, Bidding & Prequalification: Coordinate the preparation of technical, commercial and administrative tender submissions with relevant departments. Lead the end-to-end tendering process, including opportunity assessment, EOI, prequalification, ITT/RFQ review, bid preparation, submission and post-tender follow-up. Maintain an organised database of tender opportunities, submissions, outcomes and lessons learned. Coordinate responses to client clarifications, negotiations and commercial queries. Review tender requirements, identify compliance gaps and ensure submissions meet client specifications and deadlines. Client & Stakeholder Management: Maintain regular follow-up with prospective clients from initial engagement through award and mobilisation. Identify key decision-makers and develop appropriate client engagement strategies. Represent the Company at client meetings, industry engagements, business forums and prequalification activities. Establish and maintain relationships with major oil & gas operators, EPC companies, government agencies, consultants and other strategic clients. Commercial Strategy & Business Growth: Provide management with intelligence on market conditions, competitors, pricing trends and emerging business opportunities. Identify opportunities for strategic partnerships, joint ventures, subcontracting and consortium arrangements. Prepare business development reports, opportunity forecasts and pipeline updates for management review. Develop business development strategies aligned with the Company's growth objectives. Internal Coordination & Business Conversion: Coordinate bid kick-off meetings and ensure timely submission of required inputs. Support commercial negotiations and contract award processes. Conduct post-bid reviews and analyse successful and unsuccessful submissions to improve future performance. Work closely with Engineering, Projects, Finance, Procurement, HSE and other relevant departments to develop competitive bids. Performance Indicators Number and quality of new client relationships established. Tender success/conversion rate. Growth of the business development pipeline. Timeliness and quality of bid submissions. Prequalification and tender submission success rate. Value and number of qualified opportunities generated. Revenue generated from newly acquired business. Value of contracts won. Qualifications & Experience: Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Engineering, Economics, Management or a related discipline and a minimum of 7 years' relevant experience, preferably within oil & gas, EPC, construction or engineering services. Demonstrable experience: in oil & gas tendering, business development and contract acquisition. Experience: dealing with major operators, EPC contractors and relevant government agencies is highly desirable. Professional qualification in Business Development, Marketing, Project Management or a related field is an advantage. Proven track record of identifying and pursuing viable business opportunities. Required Competencies: Proficiency in Microsoft Office and relevant tender/business development tools. Market intelligence and opportunity scouting. Client relationship management.
