To Operate and Control Mixing activities of production processes in Finishing Plant Principal Accountabilities To work closely as a team with other shift-based leaders to prioritise shift activity and deliver plant targets To work with the production manager continually to improve plant performance while adhering to legislative and company standards Any requirement for organizing & planning including own work and the allocation of resources Typical decisions made and if they are advisory or directly responsible for the outcome Participate in continuous improvement initiatives. To work with the maintenance manager doing LLF and PPM to continually improve machine availability Good knowledge of how to identify areas for improvement (Process, skills, knowledge, attitude, machine etc) To work with the Shift supervisor continually to improve plant performance while adhering to legislative and company standards. Elimination/Reduction of downtime due to machine break down Facilitate effective problem solving through agreed Lean Manufacturing techniques and generate Containments and Counter measures. Monitors Business Unit area performance through Short Interval Control; daily and weekly OEE tracker, identification of the 3 top losses and facilitate review of same. Adhere to company policies and procedures. Dimensions: Implements and complies with EMS requirements: relating to environmental aspects and impacts and other policies, procedures and/or regulations applicable to assigned jobs. Ensure investigation and correction of deviations in process behaviour. Escalate issues to get prompt attention whenever necessary. Customer Satisfaction Return on Investment Examine materials and products visually or with hands, in order to ensure conformance to established standards. Stop mixing machine when specified product qualities are obtained, and open valves to transfer mixtures. Read batch cards to determine production information and specifications. Performing other tasks and activities as could be delegated by his supervisor. Clean and maintain equipment and other housekeeping activities. Strategic Alliances with different institutions Start machine to mix materials and allowing them to mix for a specified time. To work with other staff continually to improve performance while adhering to legislative and company standards. Record operational and production data on specified forms. To work closely as a team with the Line Manager and other leaders as to deliver set objectives Responsible for tending equipment such as mixer, weigher and conveyors to move materials through production processes. Turn Around Time Understands roles and responsibilities: and the importance of conformity with the EMS requirements. Ensure compliance to all Business Unit SOP’s and SOC’s (Standard Operating Conditions) and that all operations comply with Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP), all safety standards and provisions.
