Since commencing operations in March 1997 the company continues to grow and exerts its presence in numerous Projects in the Nigeria Oil and Gas Industry. We are recruiting to fill the position below: Job Title: Production Superintendent Location: Lagos Main Functions The Production Superintendent is responsible for planning, coordinating, and overseeing daily production operations to ensure the safe, efficient, and uninterrupted execution of production activities. The role provides leadership to production personnel, optimizes operational performance, ensures equipment reliability, maintains product quality, and drives compliance with Health, Safety, Security, Environment, and Quality (HSSEQ) standards while achieving production targets and operational objectives. Tasks and Responsibilties Mentor and develop production personnel to enhance competency, productivity, and succession planning. Monitor the operation of production equipment and systems, ensuring they operate within established performance and safety limits. Support the development and implementation of production procedures, operating manuals, and work instructions. Monitor inventory levels of production chemicals, consumables, and operational materials, and coordinate replenishment where necessary. Participate in risk assessments, incident investigations, toolbox talks, and safety meetings to promote a strong safety culture. Conduct routine inspections of production facilities and equipment to ensure safe and reliable operations. Review daily production reports, shift logs, and operational data to identify trends and opportunities for continuous improvement. Investigate production upsets, equipment failures, process deviations, and operational incidents, and implement corrective and preventive actions. Identify opportunities to improve production efficiency, equipment reliability, and operational performance through continuous improvement initiatives. Monitor production performance, process parameters, and equipment conditions to maximize operational efficiency and minimize downtime. Perform any other duties as assigned by Management. Liaise with internal stakeholders and contractors to ensure seamless execution of production activities. Coordinate with Maintenance, Mechanical, Electrical, Instrumentation, and Process teams to ensure timely execution of maintenance activities with minimal impact on production. Plan, coordinate, and supervise daily production activities to ensure production targets are achieved safely and efficiently. Coordinate production start-ups, shutdowns, and changeover activities in accordance with approved procedures. Supervise production personnel, allocate work assignments, and provide leadership, coaching, and performance management to the production team. Ensure production operations are carried out in accordance with approved operating procedures, work instructions, and company standards. Ensure accurate documentation of production records, operational reports, equipment logs, and shift handover information. Verify that all production activities comply with Health, Safety, Security, Environment, and Quality (HSSEQ) requirements, Permit-to-Work (PTW) procedures, and applicable regulatory standards. Ensure production losses are minimized through effective monitoring, troubleshooting, and optimization of production processes. Job Requirements: Bachelor's Degree or Higher National Diploma (HND) in Petroleum Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Production Engineering, or a related Engineering discipline. 7–10 years of relevant production operations experience, with at least 3 years in a supervisory or leadership role.
