Chief Marketing Officer (CMO) Job Type Full Time , Onsite Qualification BA/BSc/HND , MBA/MSc/MA , Professional Certificate Experience: 5 - 15 years Location Abuja , Lagos Job Field Sales and Business Development Salary Range Above ₦1,000,000/month Job Summary The Chief Marketing Officer (CMO) will provide strategic leadership for the Bank’s marketing, business development, brand positioning, customer acquisition, and revenue growth initiatives. The successful candidate will develop and execute innovative marketing strategies that strengthen the Bank’s market presence, drive customer growth, increase deposits and loan business, and support sustainable business expansion across the Private, Public, SME, and Business sectors. Key Responsibilities: Develop and implement the Bank’s overall marketing and business development strategy in line with its corporate objectives. Lead initiatives to drive customer acquisition, retention, deposit mobilization, loan growth, and revenue generation. Develop and execute effective marketing campaigns across digital, traditional, corporate, and relationship-based channels. Identify new market opportunities, emerging trends, customer segments, and potential business partnerships. Lead the development and positioning of the Bank’s brand, products, and services. Drive business growth across the Private, Public, SME, and Business sectors. Develop strategies for expanding the Bank’s customer base and strengthening existing customer relationships. Monitor market intelligence, competitor activities, customer trends, and industry developments to inform business decisions. Work closely with the Credit, Operations, Recovery, Loan Monitoring, and other departments to ensure effective execution of business objectives. Set marketing and business development targets and monitor performance against approved KPIs. Lead, coach, and develop high-performing marketing and business development teams. Manage the marketing budget effectively and ensure optimal return on marketing investment. Oversee digital marketing, social media, content development, corporate communications, and promotional activities. Develop strategic partnerships and relationships that support business growth and financial inclusion. Prepare regular marketing, customer acquisition, business growth, and performance reports for Executive Management. Ensure all marketing and customer acquisition activities comply with applicable regulatory requirements: and the Bank’s policies. Represent the Bank at strategic business, industry, corporate, and stakeholder engagements. Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) Growth in customer acquisition and retention. Deposit mobilization and portfolio growth. Loan disbursement and quality business generation. Revenue and profitability contribution from marketing initiatives. Growth in SME, Public Sector, Private Sector, and Business portfolios. Brand visibility and market penetration. Marketing campaign effectiveness and return on investment. Achievement of departmental and individual business targets. Strategic partnerships and new business opportunities generated. Team productivity and performance. Qualifications & Experience: Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business Administration, Economics, Finance, or a related discipline. A Master’s degree or relevant professional certification will be an added advantage. Minimum of 5–10 years of relevant experience: in marketing, business development, sales, or financial services, with significant experience: in a senior management role. Strong experience: in banking, microfinance, fintech, or other financial services environments. Proven track record of driving business growth, customer acquisition, deposit mobilization, and revenue generation. Strong understanding of the Nigerian financial services and microfinance landscape.
