We are recruiting to fill the position below: Job Title: Head, Legal Location: Lagos Employment Type: Full-time Job Summary The role will provide legal leadership across corporate governance, commercial transactions, contracts, regulatory compliance, risk management, dispute resolution and other legal matters affecting the company and its subsidiaries. Key Responsibilities: Develop and maintain legal policies, templates and contract standards. Keep Management informed of material legal and regulatory developments. Support Board and shareholder-related legal and governance requirements. Support contract risk assessment and legal due diligence. Monitor compliance with applicable laws, regulations and statutory requirements. Review, draft and negotiate commercial agreements, contracts and other legal documents. Support mergers, acquisitions, partnerships, investments and other strategic transactions. Provide strategic legal advice to Management and the Board where required. Manage litigation, disputes and other contentious matters. Manage external legal counsel and other legal service providers. Provide legal support for technology, software, licensing, outsourcing and service agreements. Lead the company's legal function and provide legal oversight across the business. Advise on corporate governance and regulatory matters. Provide guidance on intellectual property, data protection, employment and technology-related legal matters. Advise Management on legal risks associated with business decisions and transactions. Maintain an effective legal risk register and escalation framework. Requirements: Called to the Nigerian Bar. Experience: managing external counsel and legal disputes. Strong understanding of corporate governance and regulatory requirements. Excellent negotiation, communication and analytical skills. Strong understanding of technology, data protection and intellectual property matters. LL.B degree from a recognised university. Strong commercial awareness and ability to provide practical business-oriented legal advice. Experience: reviewing and negotiating complex technology and commercial contracts. Strong experience: in commercial and corporate law. 8+ years' post-call legal experience, preferably with significant in-house corporate experience. Experience: supporting a publicly listed company will be a strong advantage.
