Read more about this company Global R&C Adviser Job Type Full Time Qualification Experience: 5 years Location Borno City Maiduguri Job Field NGO/Non-Profit NRC is seeking an experienced Global Risk & Compliance Advisor to provide expert advice on the development and operationalisation of NRC’s risk management framework and support management teams in addressing complex, high-risk issues. You will take responsibility for specific NRC Operations while working as part of a collaborative global team that shares expertise, adapts to shifting priorities, and collectively delivers effective risk and compliance support across the organisation. If you bring strong risk expertise, sound judgement, and a practical, collaborative approach, we want to hear from you. What you will do Provide support and expert advice to management groups in assigned country offices and regional teams and to risk owners on identifying, assessing, monitoring and managing risks affecting the respective operations and the enterprise. Advise on high risk issues and how to address them. This could involve advise on risk management strategies, mitigations, identifying key internal controls and/or the need to escalte issues or risks. Advise global functions on developing function-specific risk management procedures and tools, mainstreaming external requirements: related to risk management and ensuring coherence of specific procedures with the internal control framework. Advise management groups on ensuring compliance with key internal controls and the implementation of high-risk audit recommendations. Support R&C staff or management groups in country offices with solving issues related to the implementation of RM, data protection (DP), anticorruption (AC) and sanctions/Counter Terrorism (S/CT) requirements. Provide or organise training and capacity building of staff with R&C responsibilities, develop training material relevant to the function and provide technical support and guidance related to the use of R&C standards and systems. Build a collaborative and inclusive working relationship within the R&C community of practise and facilitate sharing of best practices and learning Provide strategic inputs to country office risk and compliance priorities, staffing, procedures and tools Contribute to developing and maintaining specific organisational wide policies, procedures, tools or digital systems to: Ensure the effective implementation of mandatory RM activities Prevent corruption and fraud Ensure quality and coherence of internal controls provide information to managers on the situation of risks, effectiveness of controls and status of incidents/near miss events across the organisation. Comply and adhere to NRC policies, guidance and procedures, and a specific responsibility for the function’s policies and procedures. What you will bring 5 years of relevant (manager/specialist/advisor) experience: from working in the R&C function in an international organisation or 5 years of relevant (manager/specialist/advisor) experience: from working in the humanitarian sector within auditing, monitoring and evaluation or support functions (logistics, finance, HR). Documented results related to the position’s responsibilities. Fluency in English, both written and verbal. Knowledge and skills in the international regulatory context applicable for INGOs. University degree in risk management, compliance, internal audit, law or another relevant field is an asset. Fluency in French will be given higher weight in the assessment of CV Knowledge of the regulatory context for INGOs in at least one of the regions where NRC operates. Knowledge of the Central and West Africa region’s regulatory context will be given a higher weight. Experience: with maintenance of information management systems is an asset. What we offer Duty station: The preferred duty station is Dakar. Other possible duty stations include Oslo, Goma, Abuja. Contract: Temporary (2 years). Travel: Up to 50%.
