We are recruiting to fill the position below: Job Title: Country Manager Location: Nigeria Summary As Country Manager / Director, you will be the face of the company in-country, building the partnerships, team, and market presence that will define our growth across Nigeria's higher- education: sector. We are looking for a commercially driven, senior leader to own Astria Learning's business in Nigeria. What you'll do Keep HQ informed. Report weekly on pipeline, revenue, risks, and market intelligence; maintain accurate and current CRM records. Navigate the regulatory landscape. Manage relationships with the National Universities Commission (NUC), the Federal Ministry of Education, and other relevant regulators to ensure program accreditation and ongoing compliance. Ensure strong partner delivery. Oversee active partnerships — monitoring launch timelines, enrollment growth, partner satisfaction, and contract renewals. Build institutional partnerships. Initiate, negotiate, and close agreements with universities and higher- education: institutions for online programs, LMS, digital library, and enrollment services. Run the local operation. Manage the Nigeria office and provide day-to-day oversight of all in-country employees. Represent Astria Learning at the highest levels. Engage vice-chancellors, registrars, ministry officials, and sector bodies as the senior in-country representative. Lead and grow the local team. Recruit, develop, and manage Nigeria-based staff across business development, enrollment, and support functions; set clear targets and hold the team accountable. Shape market strategy. Monitor the competitive and regulatory environment in Nigeria and recommend strategic adjustments to HQ as needed. Drive revenue. Own and deliver the Nigeria revenue target; build and manage the full partnership pipeline from prospecting through to signed contract. What we're looking for Strong English communication skills — negotiation, executive presentations, and written correspondence. 8+ years of experience: in business development, sales leadership, or general management, including at least 3 years leading a team — with a Nigeria-based career and deep local networks. A proven track record of closing large B2B or institutional deals in Nigeria across sectors such as higher education, edtech, telecoms, banking, or similar. Willingness to travel regularly across Nigeria. Bachelor's Degree required; a Master's degree or MBA is preferred. Comfort operating with full P&L-style accountability and remote HQ oversight, with a high degree of independence. Nice to have: Prior experience: in edtech or digital education: delivery. Existing relationships within Nigeria's higher- education: ecosystem, including with universities, the NUC, or the Committee of Vice-Chancellors of Nigerian Universities (CVCNU).
