We are recruiting to fill the position below: Job Title: IT Officer Location: Island, Lagos Employment Type: Full-time Job Purpose The IT Officer is responsible for managing, maintaining, and supporting the company’s IT infrastructure, systems, hardware, software, connectivity, and users. The role ensures that technology operates reliably, securely, and efficiently to support business operations. Key Responsibilities: IT Infrastructure & Systems Management: Ensure proper configuration and maintenance of company networks, internet connectivity, Wi-Fi, and related systems. Install, configure, upgrade, and maintain hardware, software, operating systems, and business applications. Manage and maintain computers, laptops, printers, network equipment, servers, and other IT infrastructure. Monitor the performance, availability, and reliability of IT systems and promptly resolve technical issues. Maintain an up-to-date inventory of all IT equipment, software, licences, and technology assets. Technical Support: Maintain records of reported IT issues, resolutions, repairs, and recurring technical problems. Assist employees with system access, account setup, password issues, software installation, and general IT-related enquiries. Provide first-line and second-line technical support to employees across the organisation. Diagnose and resolve hardware, software, network, email, printing, connectivity, and system-related problems. Escalate complex technical issues to external vendors, service providers, or specialised IT support where necessary. Cybersecurity & Data Protection: Implement and maintain basic IT security controls across company systems and devices. Support regular data backup procedures and assist with disaster recovery and business continuity measures. Monitor systems for potential security threats, unauthorised access, malware, or suspicious activity. Promptly report significant cybersecurity incidents or data breaches to Management. Manage user access, passwords, permissions, antivirus solutions, firewalls, and other security measures. Ensure employees comply with company IT security, acceptable-use, and data protection policies. Software & User Account Administration: Recommend appropriate technology solutions to improve productivity and operational efficiency. Install, update, and maintain approved business software and applications. Monitor software licences and ensure the company remains compliant with licensing requirements. Set up and manage employee accounts, email addresses, system access, and permissions. Support the effective use of ERP, HR, accounting, communication, collaboration, and other business systems. IT Procurement & Vendor Management: Obtain technical specifications and support procurement decisions by providing appropriate recommendations. Identify IT equipment, software, subscriptions, and services required by the organisation. Liaise with IT vendors, internet service providers, software providers, and other technology partners. IT Documentation & Asset Management: Maintain accurate records of IT assets, configurations, licences, warranties, subscriptions, and assigned equipment. Ensure company IT assets are properly assigned, tracked, maintained, and recovered when employees exit the organisation. Develop and maintain IT procedures, user guides, system documentation, and troubleshooting resources. Maintain appropriate documentation of network configurations, system access, backups, and critical IT infrastructure. Technology Improvement & Business Support: Identify opportunities to automate processes and improve operational efficiency through technology. Assist with the implementation and rollout of new IT systems and technologies. Provide technical support for meetings, presentations, webinars, virtual conferences, and other company events where required. Recommend upgrades, system improvements, and digital solutions that support business objectives. Participate in technology-related projects and other operational initiatives assigned by Management. Required Qualifications & Experience: 3–4 years’ relevant experience: in IT support, systems administration, or a similar role. Practical experience: in hardware, software, networking, troubleshooting, and user support. Bachelor’s Degree/HND in Computer Science, Information Technology, Computer Engineering, or a related discipline. Core Competencies: Good knowledge of IT infrastructure and network administration. Ability to work independently and collaboratively. Strong technical troubleshooting and problem-solving skills. Strong sense of confidentiality, accountability, and integrity. Ability to prioritise and manage multiple technical requests. Analytical and detail-oriented approach. Good documentation and record-keeping skills. Strong communication and customer-service skills.
