The successful candidate will be responsible for assessing credit applications, evaluating borrowers’ creditworthiness, monitoring credit risk exposure, and ensuring compliance with the organisation’s credit policies and regulatory requirements. Key Responsibilities: Assess and analyse loan applications and supporting documentation. Prepare detailed credit analysis and risk assessment reports for management/credit committees. Conduct regular reviews of existing credit facilities and customer accounts. Identify, assess and monitor potential credit risks within the loan portfolio. Stay informed about changes in economic conditions, industry trends and regulatory requirements: that may affect credit risk. Ensure all credit decisions comply with approved policies, procedures and regulatory requirements. Liaise with Relationship Managers, Business Development Officers and other relevant teams regarding credit requests. Conduct comprehensive credit assessments and evaluate borrowers’ creditworthiness. Support the development and improvement of credit risk policies, procedures and processes. Provide recommendations on risk mitigation, restructuring and recovery strategies where necessary. Review financial statements, cash flows, credit history and other relevant financial information. Maintain accurate and up-to-date credit documentation and records. Monitor portfolio performance and identify early warning signs of potential default. Recommend appropriate credit limits, loan amounts, repayment terms and risk mitigation measures. Requirements: Strong analytical, numerical and problem-solving skills. Good understanding of lending principles, credit risk management and loan portfolio monitoring. 2–4 years of relevant experience: in credit risk, credit analysis, lending or a related financial services role. Excellent attention to detail and ability to make sound risk-based decisions. Excellent communication and report-writing skills. Good knowledge of Microsoft Office, particularly Excel. Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, Business Administration or a related field. Strong knowledge of credit assessment and financial analysis. Ability to work independently and effectively within a team. Preferred Skills: Professional certification in banking, finance, risk management or a related field will be an added advantage. Knowledge of relevant CBN regulations and applicable credit risk guidelines is an advantage. Experience: in a microfinance bank, commercial bank, fintech or other financial institution will be an advantage. Salary N250,000 - N300,000 / month.
