In order to meet our requirements, we are recruiting suitably qualified candidates to fill the position below: Job Title: Quality & Infection Prevention & Control (IPC) Officer Location: Lagos Employment Type: Full-time Job Description We are seeking a passionate and experienced Quality & Infection Prevention & Control (IPC) Officer to strengthen our quality management systems, promote patient safety, and drive a culture of continuous improvement across our hospital. The Quality & IPC Officer will be responsible for coordinating quality improvement initiatives, monitoring compliance with infection prevention and control standards, conducting audits, analyzing quality indicators, investigating incidents, facilitating staff training, and supporting the hospital’s accreditation and regulatory compliance activities. Key Responsibilities: Coordinate the hospital’s Quality Improvement and Infection Prevention & Control programmes. Conduct routine quality, IPC, hand hygiene, environmental cleaning, and clinical documentation audits. Monitor compliance with hospital policies, national guidelines, and international best practices. Investigate incidents, conduct Root Cause Analyses (RCA), and monitor implementation of corrective and preventive actions. Collect, analyze, and report quality and patient safety indicators. Develop and review policies, SOPs, protocols, and quality improvement tools. Plan and facilitate staff training on Quality Improvement, Patient Safety, and Infection Prevention & Control. Conduct surveillance of healthcare-associated infections (HAIs) and monitor IPC compliance. Support departmental quality improvement projects and performance monitoring. Participate in risk assessments, patient safety initiatives, and accreditation activities. Prepare monthly quality and IPC reports for management. Requirements: Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing, Medical Laboratory Science, Pharmacy, Public Health, Medicine, or another relevant health-related discipline. Minimum of 3 years’ experience: in Quality Management, Infection Prevention & Control, Patient Safety, Clinical Governance, or a similar role within a hospital. Sound knowledge of Infection Prevention & Control principles and quality improvement methodologies. Experience: conducting clinical and quality audits. Strong report-writing, analytical, and presentation skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, and PowerPoint). Professional certification or formal training in Infection Prevention & Control. Certification or training in Healthcare Quality Improvement, Patient Safety, Lean Healthcare, Six Sigma, or ISO Internal Auditing. Experience: supporting healthcare accreditation or regulatory inspections. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities. High attention to detail. Ability to influence and engage multidisciplinary teams. Strong organisational and time management skills. Integrity, professionalism, and accountability.
