We are recruiting to fill the position below: Job Title: Head Chef Location : Abuja Reports To: Operations Manager/Supervisor Job Summary The role involves ensuring consistent food quality, excellent presentation, effective kitchen management, proper hygiene, inventory control, cost management, and timely preparation of guest orders. The Head Chef is responsible for leading and managing all kitchen operations at DAL. Key Responsibilities: Identify and report faulty or damaged kitchen equipment. Prepare and supervise the preparation of high-quality meals. Manage food inventory, including receiving, storage, and stock monitoring. Ensure kitchen equipment is properly used, cleaned, and maintained. Control food costs and minimize wastage. Train, guide, and monitor kitchen staff to ensure compliance with standards. Maintain accurate portion control and kitchen records. Develop and update menus based on guest preferences and business needs. Maintain high standards of kitchen cleanliness, hygiene, and food safety. Ensure consistency in taste, quality, presentation, and portion sizes. Monitor expiry dates and ensure proper food storage and handling. Supervise the Assistant Chef and other kitchen staff. Coordinate and ensure timely preparation of guest food orders. Develop and maintain standardized recipes and preparation procedures. KPIs Food Wastage: ≤ 5% Order Accuracy: ≥ 98% Recipe/Portion Compliance: ≥ 95% Kitchen Hygiene Compliance: 100% Guest Food Satisfaction: ≥ 90% Food Cost Compliance: ≥ 95% Qualifications & Experience: 3–5 years of professional culinary experience.
