Responsibilities: Analyzing engineering designs for welding requirements. Executing welding projects. Carry out valve modifications and machining repairs as instructed. Reviewing welding procedures, processes, and documentation. Operate multiple types of machinery and equipment throughout the Welding department and perform various tasks in accordance with approved quality standards. Conducting failure analyses and cause analyses on welding issues. Cutting and preparing various materials for machining and welding. Generating welding procedures to help the assembly and welding teams. Perform welding and fabrication of valve bodies, bonnets and associated components where approved. Person Specifications/Qualifications Minimum of 3 years industrial welding experience. Ability to read and interpret measuring devices, drawings and blueprints and the ability to display a high level of accuracy and attention to detail in a fast-paced environment. Experience: in industrial valve repair is an added advantage. Competent in SMAW (Arc), GTAW (TIG) and GMAW (MIG) welding processes. Experience: operating manual lathe, milling, drilling and grinding machines. Trade Test, City & Guilds or relevant welding/machining certification is an advantage. Ability to learn to set-up, run and troubleshoot all welding equipment in a safe manner Good communication and teamwork. Minimum of OND / HND in Mechanical Engineering, Welding & Fabrication or related discipline. Strong organizational skills. Computer literate. Practical machining and welding experience: on industrial valves and valve components.
