We are recruiting to fill the position below: Job Title: Field Officer (Entry-level) Location: Bauchi Employment Type: Full-time Job Summary Field Officers are hired full-time, work at clinics throughout the states we operate in, and must already be based in or reside in the LGAs and wards we operate in. New Incentives - All Babies Are Equal (NI-ABAE) is seeking Field Officers to expand its operations to prevent child mortality in northern states in Nigeria. The Field Officers will support the New Incentives program, which uses cash transfers to encourage mothers to complete their infants' immunization schedules. The program operates in cooperation with the State Primary Healthcare Development Board in all states where it operates. The primary duty in the role will be enrolling beneficiaries at public clinics. Position Responsibilities: CCT Disbursements (60%): Vaccine Tracking: Verify vaccinations, check health cards, and log supply shortages. Boundary Control: Ensure only infants living in the designated area enroll. Health Education: Deliver talks on the benefits: and side effects of immunization. Enrollment: Sign up eligible beneficiaries using strict criteria. Caregiver Coaching: Explain next visit dates and encourage clinic returns. Community Engagement: Address local settlement issues and promote the benefits: of vaccination. Fraud Prevention: Prevent cheating by beneficiaries or health facility staff. Outreach Support: Track and drive local attendance at community immunization campaigns. Reporting: Submit detailed enrollment logs and manage cash safely. Clinic and Settlement Activities and Surveys (20%): Data Collection: Complete field surveys across assigned settlements and geographic areas. Reporting: Write detailed, insightful reports after completing assigned tasks. Defaulter Tracking: Find out why families miss appointments while keeping their data private. Stakeholder Engagement: Discuss enrollment and vaccination barriers with clinic staff and community leaders. Problem Solving: Spot clinic issues early, suggest solutions, and inform the Field Manager (FM). Staff Appreciation: Hand out clinic gifts, update the progress poster, and log distributions. Awareness Campaigns: Run community awareness activities directed by the FM. Supply-side and Stakeholder Relationships (10%): Incident Response: Act as the first responder for fraud, supply issues, and security concerns. Supply Tracking: Monitor stock, report shortages daily, and communicate upcoming supply needs to clinics. Issue Assessment: Investigate the root causes of low enrollment and missed appointments. Relationship Management: Maintain good relations with clinic staff, Imams, traditional birth attendants (TBAs), and local leaders. Security Awareness (5%): Safety Responsibility: Take active ownership of personal safety and team safety in the field. Incident Reporting: Immediately report all local security incidents, even if they do not directly impact operations. Daily Checks: Call village and clinic leaders every morning for local security updates. Protocol Compliance: Follow all organizational security rules, policies, and standard operating procedures (SOPs). Other duties/Special Projects (5%): Professional Development: Complete all mandatory training sessions and performance appraisals. Role Flexibility: Adapt to varying duties if covering as a Reserve, Supervising, or Logistics Officer. Special Assignments: Assist with ad-hoc projects requested by management. Key Requirements: Time Frame: Minimum of 1 to 2 years of relevant work experience. Education: SSCE, Diploma, CHEW (Community Health Extension Worker), or a related qualification. NGO Experience: Prior work in the NGO sector is preferred but not mandatory. Skills and Competencies: Location: Must be an indigene of the local government area (LGA) and currently live in the operational ward. Mobility: Willing to travel via public transport to work at remote public health clinics several days a week. Language: Fluent in Hausa and other local dialects (written and verbal). Tech Literacy: Proficient with smartphones, internet browsers, Microsoft Excel, and Microsoft Word. Data Management: Experienced in collecting, analyzing, and reporting health data. Professional Traits: Detail-oriented, hard-working, responsive to phone/email, and comfortable in a fast-changing environment. Core Values: Deeply passionate about helping communities and reducing infant mortality. Health System Knowledge: Familiar with Nigerian clinic documentation, infant health, and routine immunizations. Financial Diligence: Highly organized and careful when managing project funds and cash.
