Oversee sample receipt, chain of custody, testing, data review, and report authorization to ensure accuracy and timely delivery of results. Maintain and continually improve the laboratory's ISO/IEC 17025 and ISO 9001 Quality Management Systems. Supervise quality assurance and quality control activities, including method validation, measurement uncertainty, proficiency testing, and internal audits. Ensure compliance with applicable regulatory requirements, accreditation standards, and industry best practices. Manage laboratory instrumentation, calibration schedules, preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and equipment performance. Oversee laboratory budgeting, procurement, inventory management, and resource planning. Supervise field sampling activities and ensure proper chain of custody and sample integrity. Build, mentor, and manage laboratory personnel while driving competence development and performance management. Liaise with clients, regulatory agencies, accreditation bodies, vendors, and internal stakeholders on technical and quality matters. Support business development initiatives by providing technical input on proposals, laboratory capabilities, and service delivery. Ensure full compliance with Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) policies and promote a strong safety culture within the laboratory. Requirements: Minimum of a Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Industrial Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Petroleum Engineering, or a related discipline. Minimum of 7 years' experience: in a midstream or refined petroleum products laboratory, including at least 3 years in a supervisory or management role. Experience: in upstream oil and gas is required. Strong knowledge of ASTM, IP, ISO, GPA, UOP, and EN analytical test methods for petroleum products and gas analysis. Demonstrated experience: implementing and maintaining ISO/IEC 17025:2017 and ISO 9001:2015 Quality Management Systems. Qualified Internal Auditor certification is required. Hands-on experience: with petroleum laboratory instrumentation, including gas chromatography, sulphur analyzers, ICP-OES, Karl Fischer titrators, distillation units, flash point testers, viscometers, density analyzers, and related laboratory equipment. Proven expertise in laboratory quality assurance, method validation, proficiency testing, measurement uncertainty, and data integrity.
