The Head, POS Business is responsible for the strategic development, growth, and profitability of the Bank’s Point-of-Sale (POS) business. We have an exciting opportunity for you! Are you an experienced and confident banker seeking a challenging role in the Digital Banking Space? Responsibilities: Lead, coach, and develop the POS Business team to achieve agreed business objectives. Establish effective processes for handling merchant complaints and service issues. Develop strategies to increase POS utilization, merchant activity, customer retention, and transaction frequency. Identify opportunities for cross-selling the Bank’s products and services to POS merchants. Ensure that the POS business operates in compliance with all applicable CBN regulations, payment industry requirements, Bank policies, and internal controls. Use merchant feedback and transaction data to improve products, processes, and service delivery Oversee the deployment, activation, distribution, and management of POS terminals across target locations. Develop and execute the Bank’s overall POS business strategy in line with the Bank’s corporate and digital banking objectives. Identify opportunities to optimize pricing and improve revenue per terminal/merchant. Develop and implement strategies for acquiring high-value merchants and businesses across key sectors. Develop initiatives to improve merchant satisfaction and overall POS service experience. Ensure effective monitoring of terminal inventory and minimize terminal losses and idle assets. Establish initiatives to improve merchant retention and reduce dormant or inactive POS terminals. Set and drive aggressive but sustainable targets for POS deployment, active terminals, transaction volume, transaction value, revenue, and profitability. Requirements: A Master’s degree or relevant professional qualification will be an added advantage. Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Finance, Economics, Marketing, Computer Science, or a related discipline. Minimum of 8–10 years’ relevant experience: in banking, fintech, payments, digital banking, merchant acquiring, POS business, or related financial services. Proven track record of delivering revenue and transaction growth. At least 3–5 years in a management/leadership role, preferably managing a payments or digital channels business. Demonstrable experience: in growing a POS, merchant acquiring, agency banking, or electronic payments portfolio.
