We are recruiting to fill the position below: Job Title: Mechanical Engineer - Rotating - Office Design Location: Akwa Ibom Key Responsibilities: Support shutdown planning and plant start-up activities. Ensure compliance with safety standards for hydrogen and chlorine handling areas. Supervise installation, alignment, grouting, and commissioning activities. Conduct root cause analysis (RCA) for failures and repeated breakdowns. Monitor equipment performance and recommend reliability improvements. Coordinate with Process, Electrical, and Instrumentation teams. Technical evaluation of pumps, compressors, blowers, agitators, and vacuum systems. Review spares philosophy and preventive maintenance plans. Review and prepare datasheets, GA drawings, and vendor documents for rotary equipment. Review vibration analysis, performance curves, and test certificates. Participate in FAT and witness shop testing. Ensure proper material selection for chlorine, caustic, brine, and hydrogen services. Requirements: Qualification: B.E. / B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering (Mandatory). Experience: EPC project exposure is an added advantage 3–5 years hands-on experience: in rotary equipment handling 8–10 years of experience: in Chemical / Petrochemical / Refinery plant Experience: in commissioning and shutdown maintenance preferred Experience: in fabrication, erection, commissioning, and troubleshooting of mechanical equipment. Functional Skills: Familiarity with API 610, API 617, API 618 standards Strong knowledge of Centrifugal & Reciprocating Pumps Ability to interpret performance curves and troubleshoot cavitation issues Experience: in vibration analysis and condition monitoring Experience: in Chlorine Compressors and Hydrogen Compressors Knowledge of Vacuum pumps and brine circulation systems Understanding of hazardous area equipment requirements: Experience: in predictive and preventive maintenance systems Proficiency in vibration analysis software (for rotary).Behavioural Skills: Knowledge of corrosion-resistant materials (Monel, Hastelloy, Titanium, FRP lined pumps) Understanding of Mechanical seals (single, double, dry gas seals) Behavioural Skills: Ability to handle plant emergencies calmly Strong reporting and documentation capability. Good coordination and teamwork skills Safety-conscious mindset Proactive and reliability-focused approach Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills Certifications: Any suitable certifications in the field or related field.
