We are recruiting to fill the position below: Job Title: HSE Officer Location : Apapa, Lagos Job Summary To ensure that the Company operates in a safe working environment that is free from hazards while complying with all relevant laws on Health, Safety and environment . Responsibilities: Promote awareness, education: and use of company management system. Ensures that safety Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) are maintained and communicated to employees. Ensuring the effective management of occupational Health hazards. Monitor compliance of HSE orientation and induction for personnel and carryout inspections. Document and report all cases of Accidents and Near misses. Ensure that the company complies with all laws and regulations relating to the fire prevention and protection of the Environment. Provide assistance and advice on HSE issues to make recommendations to DSR facility management. Organizing training on the OH&S and Environmental issues. Assist in compliance reviews, general risk assessments and other safety assessments to support Health, Safety and Environmental management. Perform other work related tasks as required as assigned. Participate in DSR audits and assessments, as well as HSE local contractors’ management compliance. Update DSR HSE Dashboard and compiled DSR OHS weekly reports as required. Creating fire prevention, protection, safety awareness and training staff to handle emergencies. Liaise with Statutory agencies responsible for fire prevention and protection as well as our customers and regulatory agencies. Ensure implementation of ISO standards of OMS, FSMS, FSSC, OHSAS, EMS and any other management system in the organization. Promote 100% compliance with company HSE policies and procedures by all DSR personnel. Participate in detailed incident investigations and roots cause Analysis. Requirements: Work experience: in Health, Safety & Environment: Working knowledge of Safety procedures 5 years’ experience: in similar role Competencies: Strong communication skills and interpersonal relationship. Any relevant valid competency certificate. Proper knowledge of Safety, Health, Environment & Fire prevention and protection laws and practices. Good knowledge of relevant agencies responsible for fire prevention and protection. The International General Certificate in Occupational Health and Safety from NEBOSH. Minimum of 5 years’ experience: in this position. Proficient in all Microsoft Applications.
