The Company Driver is responsible for providing safe, reliable, timely, and professional transportation services for company executives, employees, clients, documents, materials, and other authorised company-related assignments. The role is also responsible for the proper use, cleanliness, routine inspection, and basic maintenance of assigned company vehicles. Key Responsibilities: Driving & Transportation: Safely transport authorised staff, management, clients, visitors, documents, and materials as assigned. Plan routes in advance and consider traffic conditions and alternative routes. Remain available for official transportation assignments as required. Ensure passengers are transported safely and arrive at their destinations on time. Observe speed limits, road signs, traffic rules, and safe-driving practices at all times. Drive company vehicles responsibly and in accordance with applicable traffic laws and regulations. Vehicle Maintenance & Care: Ensure all vehicle documents, licences, insurance, and permits are valid and available. Report mechanical faults, unusual noises, warning lights, or defects immediately. Check tyres, engine oil, coolant, brake fluid, lights, battery, brakes, and other essential vehicle components. Monitor fuel levels and report fuel requirements: promptly. Conduct daily pre-trip and post-trip inspections of assigned vehicles. Ensure vehicles are serviced and maintained according to approved schedules. Keep the vehicle clean, presentable, and in good operating condition. Safety & Compliance: Ensure all passengers use seat belts where applicable. Comply with company vehicle policies and procedures. Do not use mobile phones while driving except through legally permitted hands-free means. Maintain a high standard of road safety at all times. Do not operate a vehicle under the influence of alcohol, drugs, or any substance that may impair driving ability. Report accidents, traffic incidents, vehicle damage, or other safety concerns immediately. Administrative & Official Assignments: Support administrative activities requiring transportation. Maintain confidentiality of information encountered while performing official duties. Deliver and collect company documents, parcels, materials, and other authorised items. Assist with airport, hotel, client, vendor, and official visits when assigned. Obtain appropriate acknowledgement for delivered documents or materials where required. Vehicle Records & Reporting: Maintain accurate daily vehicle movement/logbook records. Report vehicle maintenance requirements: and service history. Ensure proper documentation of vehicle-related expenses and activities. Submit reports on accidents, traffic violations, repairs, or unusual incidents. Record mileage, fuel consumption, destinations, and official trips as required. Professional Conduct: Demonstrate punctuality, reliability, integrity, and accountability. Maintain a professional, courteous, and respectful attitude towards employees, management, clients, and other stakeholders. Exercise discretion and confidentiality when transporting executives, clients, and company information. Avoid unauthorised use of company vehicles. Maintain appropriate personal appearance and comply with the company's dress code. Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) Proper maintenance and cleanliness of assigned vehicle. Zero unauthorised use of company vehicles. Zero avoidable accidents and traffic violations. Professional conduct and customer/staff satisfaction. Efficient fuel consumption and responsible use of company resources. Accurate and timely completion of vehicle logbooks. Prompt reporting of vehicle faults and incidents. Compliance with vehicle inspection and servicing schedules. Timely arrival for assigned transportation duties. Compliance with company policies and road safety regulations. Qualifications & Experience: Proven knowledge of major routes and locations within the area of operation. Valid Nigerian driver's licence appropriate for the assigned vehicle. Defensive driving training/certification is an added advantage. Minimum of SSCE/WAEC/NECO or equivalent qualification. Minimum of 3 years' professional driving experience, preferably in a corporate environment. Basic knowledge of vehicle maintenance and troubleshooting. Experience: driving executive or company vehicles is an added advantage.
