We are recruiting to fill the position below: Job Title: Transport Officer Requisition ID: 1021 Location: Idu, Abuja Grade Level: Officer Level 3 Department: Supply Chain Department Reports to (Title): Warehouse/Logistics Manager Direct Reports: Loaders Job Purpose Ensures that stock gets to their destinations safely, on time, and in the most cost-effective way. Core Responsibilities: and Key Result Areas Transport/Logistics Monitoring: Ensure shipping documents are properly filed Tracking orders using functional systems (e.g. barcodes, phone calls, e-maps, and tracking software) Ensure and document dispatched and received stocks Representing the company in transport/logistics calls as assigned Research and suggest cost-effective shipping methods Scheduling daily and weekly routes Report maintenance and repair needs for vehicles and equipment organizing meetings with the vendors for updates, service improvements, negotiations, and other logistics-related matters Stay up-to-date with safety regulations Planning and supervising the shipments from production to the end-user Monitor and report on transportation costs Ensure compliance with company policies and shipping legislation Keep organized records of vehicles, schedules, and completed orders Key Performance Indicators Timely submission of reports Targeted cost of transportation against the actual cost of transportation per trip Targeted stock delivery time against actual stock delivery time Targeted stock dispatch time against actual stock dispatch time Knowledge Requirements: Knowledge of Cost management principles Knowledge of warehouse legislation, as well as policies and procedures Knowledge of warehousing, distribution, and maintenance operations Knowledge of dispatching orders and tracking vehicles Knowledge of QSR/Food Industry trends/ practices Knowledge of supply chain tracks Job Specifications Educational Requirements: A minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree or HND in Business Administration or any related discipline is required Professional Requirements: Possession of any relevant certification is essential Experience: Requirements: Minimum of 2 years experience: in a similar role Decision Expectations Maintain a standard of health, safety, and hygiene 100% integrity Supervises logistics/transportation in compliance with the company’s policies and vision Working Conditions: This role is both office and field(warehouse) based and has some occasional physical demands such as lifting stock items that weigh over 10kg if the need arises and walking around the warehouse to ensure effective monitoring.
