This role is people-facing, meaning, it is about entry, trust, mobilization, policy and follow-through at community and state level institutions. He/She will work alongside the Field Operations & Restoration Officer and Communications and Media Officer. The right person will spend real time in communities, listens well, turn goodwill into consistent participation, gather community evidence and testimonies, build credible advocacy and carry policy issues back into the communities. This Officer will serve as GRENCHI’s primary link to all our partners including but not limited to the communities, schools, farmer groups, government, CSOs and traditional leadership structures. Key Duties and Responsibilities: Organize community turnout for planting exercises, trainings, workshops, governance and events as each project demands. GRENCHI activities and escalate issues appropriately. Conduct community-level surveys, needs assessments and satisfaction check-ins and maintain accurate records of engagement activities and attendance. Coordinate with sub-nationals, ministries, local government officials, institutions and community-based organizations to secure buy-in and smooth project implementation. Any other responsibilities: assigned to the candidate by the Executive Director as required Support the planning and on-the-ground running of programmes. Serve as the first point of contact for community questions, concerns or complaints about Ensure grassroots advocacy activity is aligned with GRENCHI's overall objectives and strategic priorities. Build and maintain trusted relationships with all of GRENCHI’s partners. Work alongside the programme teams during field activities and monitoring exercises. Lead stakeholder engagement Qualifications BSc or MSc in Forestry, Environmental Science, Agriculture, Public Administration, Development Studies or a related field. Additional certification in this field will be an added advantage. Experience: and Ideal Requirement: Be a good team player. Excellent organisational, problem-solving and multitasking skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities. Fluency in Igbo and English is required Excellent facilitation, public speaking and interpersonal skills, with the ability to move comfortably between grassroots and institutional settings. Working understanding of Nigeria's environmental and climate policy landscape and of local government structures in Anambra State. 2 - 4 years hands-on experience: in community mobilization, outreach or field extension work Strong written and verbal communication skills.
