Since commencing operations in March 1997 the company continues to grow and exerts its presence in numerous Projects in the Nigeria Oil and Gas Industry. We are recruiting to fill the position below: Job Title: Head, Transport Location: Port Harcourt, Rivers Description Manage fleet operations, driver administration, contractor performance, fuel management, vehicle assets, budgets, and transport systems while driving operational efficiency, road safety, HSE culture, and continuous improvement across all land transport activities. Lead and oversee all land transportation and fleet management operations to ensure the safe, reliable, and cost-effective movement of Company personnel and goods in compliance with Company HSE standards, Land Transportation Management System (LTMS), and regulatory requirements. Task and Responsibilities: Oversees the supply, Installation, Maintenance of IVMS and /or Driving Improvement & Monitoring System (DIMS) and Monthly downloaded IVMS/DIMS report follow up. Champions Safe Drive as the Land Transport Correspondent for the JV district in support of the Road Safety Coordinator. Regularly updates and maintains a database of all vehicles owned and /or leased by the company with details of servicing, repairs, and fuel consumption. Oversee the company vehicles lease contracts and ensure vendor compliance with the terms of contract. Ensures provision of Land Transportation for a safe movement of company personnel and goods from one place to another purposely for company business in Nigeria affiliate. Ensure timely capture and collation of Land transport KPI’s and data are inputted into the Dashboard. Support the Travels Manager in managing all Nigeria affiliate relationships with NAPIMS as it relates to Land transport activities Ensure all land transport is operated in conformity with Company LTMS, HSE Driving Policy and Conduct HSE meetings (weekly, monthly, quarterly) and follow related action plans. Manages the supply, Installation and Maintenance of DIM (Driving Improvement & Monitoring System) and/or IVMS Performs any other duties/projects that may be assigned to him/her by the Travels Manager. Lead incidents analysis, investigation of road transport incidents in conjunction with HSE department and keeps records of accidents and related Cause Tree Analysis (CTA) to ensure mitigation measures are enforced. Manages the Fuel Dump, Fuel Card, Offloading, Storage of AGO and PMS and ensure availability of fuel and its administration to all company operational vehicles, lease vehicles and status cars for smooth operations. Validates repair estimates from garages for company own vehicles and approves repairs Manages fuel administration to ensure good and effective transportation operation and effective budget performance. Participates in preparation and running the Departmental annual budgets, inserts controls to monitor budget compliance. Prepares necessary documentation for vehicular asset acquisition and disposal. Constant education: and training of company drivers towards safe and defensive driving behavior. Ensures efficient utilization of the On-line Vehicle Request tools, Journey Management Feedback tools and Fleet management tools by all users. Ensures the daily management of over 391 drivers to maintain cordial industrial harmony in the company. Organize and participate to HSE events (best anomaly rewards, Safety Feedback Notice Presentation, Safety Stand Down, Safe Driving Campaign, Contractors audits) to promote HSE culture. Manages the vehicle lease and maintenance contract to provide the required services timely, at the best cost and ensure good budget performance. Coordinates the activities of the company drivers to ensure industrial peace, low-level staff (Artisans), with extremely low literacy level,varying experiences, and background; requiring special attention and forms a major size of the workforce used to achieve results. Timely preparation of drivers’ monthly HSE meeting, safety training, leave schedules and monitor implementation. Manages fleets that are maintained outside the company premises and in various Locations by third party which sometime is difficult to control. Enforce HSE rules on Road/Water-Transport activities (passengers and equipment) and implement solutions for Carbon Footprint reduction. Job is central to all departments in the company and externally with leased vendors, garages, and other service providers. Ensures the regular maintenance & frequent update of Drivers & Fleet register & Data base. Prepares activity report on land transport and makes recommendations to the Travels Manager on land transport matters. Monitor and controls transport operations to ensure safety of lives of personnel, goods, and other road users. General lack of social infrastructure in the country leads to serious pressure on company facilities and staff. Immediate environment (Niger Delta, Lagos and Abuja in Nigeria facing with (militant group, Unrest situation, kidnapers) is volatile, unpredictable, and extremely sensitive, thus making planning difficult. Coordinates the activities of the company drivers to ensure peaceful industrial atmosphere in the district. Job Requirements: Good computer skills. Capable of working with minimum supervision and good analytical skill. Good administrator, organizational skill, Courteous, patient, detailed and sufficient capacity to manage pressures. Minimum of 7 years’ work experience: in Logistics, Engineering, or related field.
