We are recruiting to fill the position below: Job Title: Cluster Director - Culture, Learning and People Development Locations: Abuja (FCT) and Lagos Employment Type: Full-time Sector: Hospitality / Luxury Hotels Job Purpose The Cluster Director, Culture, Learning & People Development will lead the culture, learning, talent, and people-development agenda across the organization's hospitality properties in Lagos and Abuja. The role will be responsible for embedding a consistent service culture, leadership philosophy, learning framework, and employee experience: across both properties, while adapting initiatives to the operational needs of each location. Key Responsibilities: Culture & Service Excellence: Translate company values into practical behavior's, service standards, and leadership expectations. Drive a culture of service excellence, accountability, professionalism, teamwork, and guest focus. Define and embed the desired people and service culture across both properties. Partner with operations to identify service gaps and translate guest feedback into coaching and development initiatives. Learning & Development: Ensure learning programs are practical, engaging, measurable, and aligned with luxury hospitality standards. Conduct training needs assessments across departments and employee levels. Standardize core learning programs while allowing flexibility for property-specific requirements. Establish structured programs covering onboarding, operational skills, supervisory development, leadership, and service excellence. Develop and implement the annual Learning & Development strategy across both properties. Leadership & Talent Development: Build leadership capability across supervisors, managers, and senior hotel leaders. Support succession planning and internal career development across key functions. Coach leaders on people management, communication, performance management, employee engagement, and service culture. Develop structured development plans for high-potential employees and future leaders. Employee Engagement & People Development: Partner with HR and Department Heads to identify capability gaps and implement targeted development solutions. Develop initiatives that improve employee engagement, retention, recognition, and internal mobility. Strengthen employee ownership, teamwork, accountability, and pride in the organisation. Cluster Alignment: Establish consistent people-development frameworks, learning standards, and cultural practices across both properties. Maintain regular presence across both properties and ensure effective implementation of cluster-wide initiatives. Facilitate knowledge sharing and best-practice transfer between locations. Identify differences in capability, culture, or service delivery and implement appropriate interventions. Measurement & Reporting: Provide regular reports, insights, and recommendations to the General Managers and senior leadership. Evaluate the impact of learning and culture initiatives on employee and guest experience. Establish and monitor KPIs covering training effectiveness, employee engagement, retention, internal promotions, leadership development, and service performance. Education: & Experience: 3–5 years' experience: in a senior L&D, Training, Talent, HR, or People Development leadership role. Master's degree or relevant certification in L&D, HR, Leadership, Coaching, or Organizational Development is an advantage. Strong experience: in leadership development, service excellence, talent management, succession planning, and employee engagement. Experience: working across Lagos and Abuja or other African/emerging hospitality markets is an advantage. Bachelor's Degree in Hospitality Management, Human Resources, Business Administration, Psychology, Organizational Development, or a related field. 8–12 years' progressive experience: in hospitality, preferably within luxury, upscale, or large full-service hotels Strong understanding of hotel operations and luxury guest-service standards. Proven multi-property or cluster experience: is strongly preferred.
