BCHS is conceived to identify Diagnostics and Clinical needs through innovative diagnostic medical practices which includes Imaging, Pathology, specialty clinics (Eye, Dental, Physiotherapy, Endoscopy and Dialysis), as well as other tailored packages. We are recruiting to fill the position below: Job Title: Medical Officer Location: Agungi - Lekki, Lagos Employment Type: Full-time Reports to: Head of Clinical Services/ Medical Director Summary It includes the provision for clinical assessments and examinations of clients including children: and the examination, investigation, diagnosis and/or treatment of patients. It also provides for the management of this work. The Position Involves the application of professional medical knowledge and experience: in the operation and maintenance of medical services, including medical services associated with regulatory controls. Essential Function of the job Liaise with visiting medical consultants and provide assistance during medical procedures. The medical officer will provide opinions and recommendations in the coordination of medical case management. The medical officer will also provide medical assessments for periodic checks clients of different categories and the overall provision of medical reports where required. Plans, implements and monitor health activities alongside marketing departments. Liaise with the digital marketer on generating contents on a monthly basis. Weekly strategies on how to generate income. Health education, counselling and information provision about how to improve health and prevent disease and interventions or treatments that treat risk factors. Work also involves the application of different concepts, processes and diagnostic methods relating to well established aspects of administrative or professional fields. Provide medical opinions, recommendations on health check, plans and medical packages for periodic screenings. Attend to medical reports that are presented for interpretation opinion and recommendations as to the possibilities of further medical complications that might arise during the proposed medical screenings. The Medical Officer must maintain current medical registration. Assists with projects, as required by the medical director, including the development of an evidenced based library to support all medical decision making. Medical Case Management: The medical officer undertakes medical examinations and assessments. Refers difficult and complicated cases to the specialist concerned for further treatment and management. Make medical recommendations to the management based on available information. Urgent medical and nursing services (Including resuscitation, stabilization, assessment, diagnosis treatment and referral as necessary. Assess the urgency and severity of presenting problems through history taking, examinations and investigation. In the event of a medical resuscitation provide medical justification, stating the medical grounds for recommending a resuscitation (or transfer to alternative management). In the first instance, such recommendations should be medically determined, though not ignoring the commercial implication of such a recommendation. Examines patients and investigates the disease through physical examination and other diagnostic tests. Provides basic treatment for all medical problems using standard treatment protocol. Reviews and follow up on patients who are on treatment to ensure the completion of treatment. Provision of support to the administration function: Maintain Clinical and/ or patient files for clinical cases. Supervise the nurses, clinical officers, health workers and technicians under him/her. Ability to operate office and data processing equipments. Key Accountabilities: Must be competent in advanced life support skills. Must be computer literate. Must be currently registered with the Nigerian Medical Council. Must be able to communicate, influence and build an effective relationship at all levels of the business. Must be currently clinical skilled in emergency medicine and intensive care. Qualifications Proactive approach and capable of working on own initiative. A minimum of 4 years’ experience: as a General Duty Officer or equivalent experience. Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS)and must be registered with the NMA and Medical Guild Council. Ability and flexibility to deal with pressure and deadlines. Good command of written and spoken English. Good interpersonal skills, and must have a good rapport with people.
