Our client is looking to hire an experienced and commercially driven Business Development Manager to join its team in Lekki. This is a hands-on business development role for someone who understands the traditional financial services market, knows how to identify and convert corporate clients, and can actively drive revenue. We are NOT looking for a FinTech Business Development Manager. We are specifically interested in professionals who have worked directly within the financial services industry, particularly businesses involved in corporate lending, fixed deposits, investment products, finance houses, microfinance banking, merchant banking, commercial banking, or related financial services. Key Responsibilities: Monitor market trends, competitor activities and emerging business opportunities. Develop and maintain strong relationships with existing clients. Drive the acquisition of corporate deposits and fixed deposit customers. Generate leads through direct prospecting, referrals, networking and existing relationships. Work closely with Credit, Risk, Operations and Management teams to ensure smooth execution of transactions. Identify businesses and organisations with potential borrowing and investment needs. Provide regular reports on business development activities, pipeline and performance. Understand clients' financial needs and recommend appropriate lending or investment solutions. Generate and manage a strong pipeline of corporate lending prospects. Develop and execute strategies to acquire new corporate clients. Build relationships with business owners, CFOs, Finance Directors, Treasurers and other key decision-makers. Maintain accurate records of prospects, client interactions, opportunities and conversions. Conduct client meetings, presentations and business negotiations. Achieve agreed monthly and quarterly business development and revenue targets. What We Are Looking For Education: & Experience: 5+ years of relevant Business Development/Sales experience, preferably within traditional financial services. Professional qualifications in banking, finance, sales or related fields will be an advantage. Demonstrable track record of achieving business development or revenue targets. Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business Administration, Banking & Finance or a related discipline. The ideal candidate must: Be comfortable working in a fully onsite environment from Monday to Friday. Be proactive, resourceful and capable of working independently. Candidates should be approximately 30–49 years old and must have sufficient hands-on experience: to independently deliver the responsibilities: of this role. Have direct experience: selling or facilitating corporate loans, fixed deposits, investment products or related financial services. Be highly target-driven and commercially minded. Have strong communication, presentation and relationship-management skills. Have an existing network of corporate/business relationships that can be leveraged for business development. Be confident engaging business owners, senior executives and corporate decision-makers. Have proven Business Development/Sales experience: within the traditional financial services industry. Demonstrate a strong ability to prospect, negotiate, close deals and grow client relationships. Understand how the corporate lending and deposit mobilisation market works.
