We are recruiting experienced professionals who are passionate about excellence, technology, quality, customer experience: and building efficient healthcare systems from the ground up. The Finance Manager will establish and manage the financial management, accounting, reporting, budgeting, internal control and statutory compliance systems of the diagnostic centre from inception. Responsibilities: Key responsibilities: include: Monitor HMO and corporate-client receivables and support timely collection. Review expenditure requests, purchase orders, invoices and supporting documentation before payment. Ensure all financial records are properly backed up and securely maintained. Coordinate annual audit processes and provide auditors with complete and accurate financial records. Participate in procurement controls, vendor evaluation and payment processes. Monitor financial risks and recommend corrective actions. Maintain records required for ITF, NSITF/Employees' Compensation, NHF where applicable, CAC annual compliance and other applicable regulatory obligations. Develop and maintain accurate financial records for all revenue and expenditure. Develop and maintain strong internal controls to minimise fraud, revenue leakage, errors and unauthorised expenditure. Prepare information and documentation required for statutory tax, regulatory and audit obligations. Develop financial policies and procedures appropriate for a growing diagnostic centre. Prepare monthly management accounts and annual financial reports, including: Income Statement/Statement of Profit or Loss Relevant management schedules and financial analyses. Statement of Financial Position/Balance Sheet Cash Flow Statement Establish appropriate chart of accounts, accounting procedures, approval limits and financial controls. Establish controls for laboratory billing, discounts, refunds, credit sales and receivables. Manage daily accounting transactions, receivables, payables and bank reconciliations. Coordinate applicable PAYE obligations with the relevant Rivers State tax authority, VAT and withholding-tax compliance, Companies Income Tax obligations with NRS, pension remittances and other applicable statutory obligations. Provide management with financial information required for pricing, expansion, investment and strategic decision-making. Establish effective revenue-control systems covering POS, transfers, HMO receivables, corporate accounts and other income streams. Ensure segregation of duties and appropriate financial authorisation controls. Reconcile inventory records with accounting records and investigate variances. Develop annual budgets, departmental budgets, cash-flow forecasts and financial projections. Monitor actual performance against budget and investigate significant variances. Manage payroll accounting and coordinate with HR on salary processing and statutory deductions. Work with the Inventory Officer to establish controls over laboratory reagents, consumables, medical supplies and other inventory. Build the organisation's bookkeeping and accounting system from scratch. Qualification Experience: preparing monthly and annual financial statements. Experience: in budgeting, cash-flow forecasting and financial analysis. Experience: in inventory accounting and internal controls. 5 years' relevant post-qualification/cognate experience, preferably in healthcare, hospital, medical laboratory or a similar regulated organisation. Experience: managing statutory filings and external audits. Chartered Accountant with relevant professional qualification such as ACA/ANAN/ACCA or equivalent recognised professional qualification. Experience: in a start-up or organisation where financial systems had to be built from the ground up is highly desirable. Demonstrable experience: establishing bookkeeping and accounting systems. Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance or a related discipline. Skills Set: Excellent knowledge of financial reporting. Strong analytical and problem-solving ability. High attention to detail and financial accuracy. Knowledge of healthcare revenue-cycle management is an advantage. Strong internal control and fraud-prevention skills. Strong cash-flow management. Knowledge of HMO and corporate-client billing and reconciliation is an advantage. Excellent knowledge of bookkeeping and accounting principles. Strong knowledge of Nigerian tax and statutory compliance requirements. Proficiency in accounting software such as Sage, QuickBooks, Odoo, SAP, Microsoft Dynamics or similar ERP/accounting systems. Excellent Excel skills. Ability to work with management, HR, procurement, laboratory and administrative teams. Strong leadership and communication skills. Strong budgeting and financial forecasting skills. High integrity and strict confidentiality. Strong financial accounting and management accounting skills.
