We are recruiting to fill the position below: Job Title: Finance Officer Requisition No: 2026201159 Location : Abuja Job Type: Full time Position Summary The role will provide strategic financial management, analysis, reporting, audit support, effective budget monitoring, donor compliance oversight, and technical assistance, including capacity strengthening of partner institutions and health facilities across EpiC supported states on Liquid Oxygen (LOX) projects. Under the supervision of the Finance Manager, the Finance Officer will oversee accounting functions within the Country office, Abuja and ensure full compliance with the contractual and financial requirements: of all EpiC projects. Key Responsibilities: Financial Transactions and Compliance: Support month-end financial procedures, including reconciliations, schedules, and statutory remittances, ensuring timeliness and accuracy. Ensure accuracy, completeness, and adherence to approved payment and documentation procedures. Lead the collation, review, processing, and upload of financial transactions in compliance with organizational policies, donor requirements, and accounting standards using DPA, GFAS, or Microsoft Navision. Assist the Finance Manager in conducting post-reviews of completed financial transactions to ensure compliance and audit readiness. Budget Monitoring and Financial Reporting: Support monitoring of project budgets in line with approved work plans and donor agreements. Support coordination and tracking of all program finance deliverables for EpiC projects. Assist with project pipeline preparation and ongoing budget monitoring to ensure effective cost control. Analyse periodic expenditures and support preparation of regular and ad hoc financial reports. Audit and Assurance Support: Support internal and external audits and financial reviews through timely retrieval, review, and submission of required documentation. Respond to audit queries and assist with preparation of audit schedules. Support implementation and tracking of audit recommendations across EpiC projects. Technical and Operational Finance Support: Support notetaking, report writing, and follow-up communication related to finance and compliance activities. Provide technical finance support to EpiC finance activities, including data collection and entry, compliance tool testing, and documentation management. Administrative and Logistics Support: Support office operations, including office management, asset tracking, and inventory management, in collaboration with the operations team. Assist with coordination of logistics for workshops, trainings, meetings, and field activities in collaboration with program and operations teams. Work with the travel unit to coordinate project drivers and ensure proper management of vehicle movements, fuel records, and log sheets. Facilitate liaison between program staff and external stakeholders on administrative and financial matters. Coordination and Other Duties: Support continuous improvement of finance and administrative processes in line with organizational standards. Provide coverage for staff on leave and perform other related duties as assigned by the Finance Manager. Education: and Experience: Minimum of 1–3 years of accounting experience: supporting international development or donor-funded programs. Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field with 3–5 years of relevant experience; or Demonstrated experience: working effectively in multicultural environments. Professional certification (CPA, ACA, ACCA, or equivalent) is an advantage. Familiarity with DOS-funded programs and NGO operations in Nigeria is an advantage. Master’s degree in accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field with 1–3 years of relevant experience. Typical Physical Demands: Ability to lift/move up to 5 lbs. Ability to spend long hours looking at computer screen and doing repetitive work on a keyboard. Typical office environment. Ability to sit and stand for extended periods of time. Sound knowledge of accounting principles and financial management, including budgeting, financial reporting, and analysis. Knowledge of donor regulations and compliance requirements, particularly for DOS-funded projects. Strong organizational and prioritization skills.
