We are recruiting to fill the position below: Job Position: Accountant Job Location : Lagos Key Responsibilities: Prepare and maintain accurate financial records, ledgers, and journal entries. Perform daily, weekly, and monthly bank and settlement account reconciliations. Support the preparation of monthly management accounts and financial statements. Ensure timely remittance and filing of statutory taxes (VAT, WHT, PAYE, CIT). Assist with budgeting, cash flow monitoring, and financial forecasting. Process vendor payments, staff expense claims, and payroll-related entries. Support internal and external audits by providing documentation and schedules. Maintain fixed asset register and monitor accounting controls. Collaboration & Work Practices: Work closely with the Settlement team to reconcile transaction and payout accounts. Support Compliance with audit trails and financial documentation requests. Report to the Finance Manager/CFO on account status and variances. Participate in month-end and year-end closing processes. Qualifications Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field. 3-5 years of accounting experience, ideally within banking, fintech, or a payments company. ICAN or ACCA certification (or in view) is an advantage. Strong understanding of Nigerian tax laws and financial regulations.
