This role requires a strong understanding of the local market, proven sales leadership experience, and the ability to translate commercial strategies into measurable business results. We are looking for a commercially driven Sales Manager to lead revenue growth, sales execution, and overall commercial performance within an assigned market. Unlike a traditional Business Development role, this position is primarily focused on revenue ownership, sales conversion, pipeline management, account expansion, and overall commercial performance. Key Responsibilities: Lead the end-to-end sales cycle, from prospecting and qualification through negotiation, closing, and customer onboarding. Develop and execute market-specific sales strategies and plans aligned with the company’s overall commercial objectives. Collaborate with Product, Marketing, Operations, Finance, Compliance, and Customer Experience: teams to ensure seamless execution of sales and customer initiatives. Establish and maintain strong relationships with key customers, decision-makers, and strategic partners. Own and deliver the achievement of monthly, quarterly, and annual revenue and sales targets for the assigned market. Drive effective sales negotiations and commercial engagements, ensuring alignment with approved pricing, policies, and business objectives. Develop and execute account growth strategies, including upselling, cross-selling, and increasing customer wallet share. Track key sales metrics, identify performance gaps, and implement corrective actions to improve conversion, revenue, and sales productivity. Conduct regular pipeline reviews and provide accurate sales forecasts, revenue projections, and performance updates to management. Build, manage, and maintain a strong sales pipeline to ensure consistent achievement of revenue targets. Lead, coach, and support sales team members to achieve individual and team targets, where applicable. Provide management with actionable market insights, sales performance reports, and recommendations to support business growth and improve overall commercial performance. Monitor market trends, customer needs, competitor activities, and emerging opportunities to identify new revenue streams. Identify and acquire high-value customers, strategic accounts, and new business opportunities within the assigned market. Minimum Requireement For the East Africa position, experience: across one or more key markets such as Rwanda or Ethiopia will be an advantage. Proven ability to identify new revenue opportunities, acquire customers, and drive upselling, cross-selling, and account growth. Demonstrated experience: managing and growing enterprise, strategic, or high-value accounts. Strong experience: managing the end-to-end sales cycle, including prospecting, pipeline development, negotiation, closing, and account expansion. Strong understanding of the fintech/payments ecosystem, customer landscape, competitive environment, and commercial opportunities within the relevant market. Proven ability to build and maintain a healthy sales pipeline and provide accurate revenue forecasts. Candidate must currently reside in the respective market Highly commercial, data-driven, target-oriented, and results-focused, with the ability to operate independently and take ownership of market performance. Experience: developing and executing market-entry, go-to-market, or market expansion strategies will be an advantage. 5–8+ years of proven sales experience, with a strong track record of achieving and exceeding revenue targets. Demonstrated experience: in Sales Management, Key Account Management, Enterprise Sales, or Commercial Management, preferably within a target-driven environment. Prior experience: in the Fintech, Payments, Financial Services sector is required. Proven experience: owning revenue targets and driving measurable commercial growth. Proficiency in using CRM and sales analytics tools to manage pipelines, track performance, and generate sales insights. Strong market experience: in the assigned region is required: Nigeria for the Nigeria role, Ghana for the Ghana role, and East Africa for the East Africa role. Strong negotiation, communication, presentation, relationship management, and stakeholder management skills.
