We are recruiting to fill the position below: Job Title: Corporate Commercial / Litigation Lawyer Location: Lekki Phase 1, Lagos Employment Type: Full-time The Role The successful candidate will possess strong analytical, drafting, advocacy, and client management skills, with proven experience: in corporate and commercial advisory, regulatory compliance, and dispute resolution. We are looking for a highly motivated and results-oriented Corporate Commercial/Litigation Lawyer with a minimum of five (5) years of post-qualification experience. This role offers an excellent opportunity to work on complex legal matters while contributing strategically to the Firm's growth and development. Key Responsibilities: The successful candidate will be responsible for: Delivering high-quality legal services while maintaining the Firm's professional standards. Advising clients on a broad range of corporate, commercial, regulatory, and governance matters. Developing litigation strategies and effectively managing cases from commencement through resolution. Advising on company incorporations, corporate restructuring, mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures, and other corporate transactions. Representing clients in litigation, arbitration, mediation, and other dispute resolution proceedings. Conducting legal research and preparing pleadings, briefs, witness statements, and other court processes. Managing client relationships by providing timely, practical, and commercially focused legal advice. Collaborating effectively with colleagues across practice groups on multidisciplinary matters. Providing leadership, supervision, and mentorship to junior lawyers, interns, and support staff where required. Contributing to thought leadership through legal articles, client alerts, seminars, and presentations. Drafting, reviewing, negotiating, and advising on a wide range of commercial agreements, including shareholder agreements, service agreements, supply agreements, financing documents, and other transaction documents. Supporting and contributing to the Firm's business development strategy by identifying new business opportunities, strengthening client relationships, and participating in networking, marketing, and client engagement initiatives. Appearing before courts, tribunals, and regulatory bodies where required. Conducting legal due diligence and preparing legal opinions, transaction documents, and advisory memoranda. Managing multiple assignments while meeting deadlines and maintaining exceptional attention to detail. Keeping abreast of developments in corporate, commercial, and litigation practice to ensure clients receive current and strategic legal advice. Providing legal support on corporate governance, regulatory compliance, and corporate secretarial matters. Requirements: The ideal candidate should possess: Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Strong advocacy, negotiation, legal drafting, and research skills. A proactive, solution-oriented mindset with the ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
