We are recruiting to fill the position below: Job Title: Finance Officer Location: Palmgrove, Lagos Employment Type: Full-time Job Summary We are looking for a hands-on Finance Officer to manage the day-to-day financial operations of our growing polytechnic. You’ll be the one keeping our finances clean, compliant, and ready for growth. This person must understand accounting for educational institutions, be comfortable with ERP implementation, and be able to do bookkeeping, budgeting, and reporting without hand-holding. Key Responsibilities: Accounting & Bookkeeping: Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in line with Nigerian accounting standards Maintain complete and accurate financial records: general ledger, accounts payable/receivable, payroll, student fees Handle tuition fee collection, receipts, reconciliation, and student ledger management Management Finance: Support management with financial analysis for decision-making: cost of programs, viability of new courses, etc. Prepare and monitor annual budgets for departments, projects, and the institution Track cash flow, manage bank accounts, and ensure proper fund allocation ERP & IT: Lead implementation and daily operation of the college ERP/finance module Train staff on ERP use for fee collection, payroll, and procurement Ensure data integrity, backups, and proper access controls in the system Compliance & Controls: Ensure compliance with FIRS, TETFUND, JAMB/NBTE financial reporting where applicable Enforce internal controls, prevent leakages, and conduct periodic reconciliations Prepare reports for the Board/Proprietor and Management Liaise with auditors, banks, and vendors Manage statutory deductions: PAYE, Pension, NHF, WHT Key Performance Indicators - KPIs We’ll measure you on: Budget Adherence: Departmental spending within 5% variance of approved budget Cash Flow Management: 95% of expected tuition collected each semester, aged debt tracked ERP Adoption: 100% of fee collection and procurement processed through ERP within 3 months of resumption Financial Accuracy: Monthly books closed by the 5th of the following month with <1% reconciliation variance Compliance: Zero penalties on statutory remittances.
