The successful candidate will work closely with the IT Manager to support educational technology initiatives and maintain a secure and reliable IT environment. Key Responsibilities: Technical Support Provide first-line technical support to staff and students for hardware, software, network, and peripheral devices. Respond promptly to IT support requests and resolve issues within agreed service timelines. Install, configure, maintain, and troubleshoot desktop computers, laptops, printers, scanners, projectors, interactive boards, and other ICT equipment. Set up ICT equipment for classrooms, meetings, examinations, and school events. Systems & Network Support Assist in maintaining the school's wired and wireless network infrastructure. Monitor network performance and report faults or outages to the IT Manager. Support internet connectivity and troubleshoot network-related issues. Configure user devices and ensure they are connected securely to the school's network. Software & Systems Administration Install, update, and maintain operating systems and software applications. Assist with the administration of Microsoft 365, Google Workspace, email accounts, and user profiles. Create, modify, and deactivate user accounts as directed. Ensure software licensing compliance. Hardware Maintenance Perform routine preventive maintenance on ICT equipment. Diagnose hardware faults and coordinate repairs or replacements when necessary. Maintain an inventory of computer equipment, accessories, and software licences. Keep ICT equipment clean, organised, and functional. Cybersecurity & Data Protection Ensure antivirus software and security updates are installed and functioning properly. Support data backup and recovery processes. Report suspicious activities, security incidents, or system vulnerabilities. Promote safe computing practices among staff and students. Educational Technology Support Support Learning Management Systems (LMS), student information systems, online assessment platforms, and classroom technology. Assist teachers with the setup and use of digital learning tools. Provide technical assistance during computer-based examinations and online learning activities. Documentation & Reporting Maintain accurate records of IT support requests, resolutions, and equipment maintenance. Update ICT asset registers and inventory records. Prepare periodic reports on support activities and recurring technical issues. Assist in documenting IT procedures and user guides. Vendor & Equipment Coordination Liaise with external vendors during equipment servicing and installations. Assist in receiving, testing, and deploying newly procured ICT equipment. Qualifications Education: Bachelor's Degree or Higher National Diploma (HND) in Computer Science, Information Technology, Computer Engineering, or a related field. Professional Certifications (Preferred) CompTIA A+ CompTIA Network+ Microsoft Certified Fundamentals or equivalent Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) (advantageous) Google Workspace Certification (advantageous) Experience: Minimum of 2–3 years' relevant experience: in an IT support or systems administration role.
