Reporting to the Group Managing Director/CEO, the successful candidate will drive business growth, operational excellence, regulatory compliance, profitability, and stakeholder engagement while positioning the business as a leading mining company in Nigeria and West Africa. We are seeking an experienced and commercially driven Managing Director to provide strategic leadership and oversee the overall performance of the company's mining operations. Key Responsibilities: Oversee end-to-end mining operations, including exploration, extraction, processing, beneficiation, logistics, and commercial activities. Lead the development and execution of the company's strategic and operational plans, ensuring alignment with Group objectives. Develop and maintain strong relationships with regulators, host communities, government agencies, investors, and other key stakeholders. Lead commercial negotiations for mineral sales, offtake agreements, joint ventures, and strategic investments. Report business performance, strategic initiatives, and key risks to Group Executive Management and the Board. Identify and secure new mining opportunities, concessions, and strategic partnerships while driving expansion and value-addition initiatives. Ensure compliance with all mining regulations, environmental standards, HSE requirements, and corporate governance obligations. Take full responsibility for the subsidiary's financial performance, budgeting, capital projects, profitability, and operational efficiency. Build and lead high-performing multidisciplinary teams while fostering a strong safety and performance culture. Requirements: Education: & Professional Qualifications: Professional membership with COMEG, AusIMM, SAIMM, or an equivalent professional body is highly desirable. MBA or Master's Degree in Mining Engineering, Geology, Metallurgy, Earth Sciences, or a related discipline.. Experience: within a diversified industrial group or conglomerate will be an added advantage. Experience: with lithium, dolomite, limestone, or other industrial/battery minerals is highly preferred. Minimum of 15 years' experience: within the mining industry, including 5–7 years in a senior executive leadership role. Sound knowledge of Nigerian mining regulations, licensing processes, and government engagement. Strong experience: across exploration, mining operations, mineral processing, beneficiation, and commercial mining activities. Proven track record of P&L management, capital project delivery, operational leadership, and stakeholder engagement.
