The Senior Associate will also serve as the first point of supervisory contact for Associates, overseeing their day-to-day legal work and professional development, while reporting directly to the Principal Partner. The Senior Associate will lead the Firm's corporate and commercial law practice, with primary responsibility for non-contentious legal work — including corporate advisory, transactions, compliance, and strategic development. Key Roles and Responsibilities: Corporate & Commercial Practice: Draft, review, and negotiate a wide range of corporate and commercial agreements (shareholder agreements, MOUs, service contracts, partnership agreements, etc.). Conduct legal due diligence for transactions, investments, and corporate restructuring. Stay current on developments in corporate law, business regulation, and relevant industry trends affecting clients. Advise clients on regulatory compliance across relevant sectors (CAC filings, SEC regulations, industry-specific compliance, etc.). Provide legal advisory services on corporate governance, company law, mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures, and commercial contracts. Strategic Development & Partnerships: Develop and maintain strong professional relationships with existing and prospective clients to support long-term trust and confidentiality. Represent the Firm in meetings, networking engagements, and negotiations with prospective clients and partners. Support the Firm's strategic growth objectives by identifying new practice opportunities in the corporate law space. Identify and pursue partnership opportunities with corporate organizations, businesses, and institutions. Supervisory & Team Leadership: Delegate tasks appropriately among Associates and monitor progress on assigned matters. Provide mentorship and support the professional development of Associates, in line with the Firm's culture of continuous learning. Collaborate with HR on Associate task allocation, workload management, and performance feedback. Escalate performance, conduct, or resourcing concerns to the Principal Partner and/or HR as appropriate. Supervise, guide, and review the work of Associates on corporate law matters, ensuring quality, accuracy, and timely delivery. General: Represent the Firm's values and philosophy of legal excellence and people-centred service delivery in all client and partner engagements. Uphold the Firm's professional standards, code of conduct, and confidentiality obligations at all times.
