We are recruiting to fill the position below: Job Title: Portrait Artist for Books or Magazines (Children’s & Non-Fiction Book Project) Location: Remote Employment Type: Contract About the Project We are currently working on a non-fiction book project featuring portraits of notable individuals, created for children and adolescents, while also being accessible and engaging for adult readers. We are looking for a talented Portrait Artist/Illustrator with experience: creating artwork for books, magazines, editorial publications, or similar projects to join us on this project. What You’ll Be Working On The project will require the creation of at least 20 individual portraits, with the possibility of additional portraits depending on the final scope of the book. The portraits should be: Suitable for use in a professionally published non-fiction book. Consistent in style and quality across the entire collection. Well-researched and visually accurate. Engaging and appropriate for a young audience. Able to capture the personality and character of each subject. Requirements: We are looking for someone who: Has strong experience: in portrait illustration/art. Has a portfolio demonstrating previous portrait work. Ideally has experience: working on books, magazines, editorial illustrations, or publishing projects. Understands the importance of accuracy when illustrating real people. Can work within agreed timelines and respond well to feedback. Is able to maintain a consistent visual style across multiple portraits. Project Rate The proposed rate is N20,000 per portrait, for a minimum of 20 portraits. Open to more amount of portraits. However, we are open to negotiating a discounted rate for the full bulk project, depending on the artist’s portfolio, experience, and overall scope of the work.
