We are recruiting to fill the position below: Job Title: Midwife, LN Location: Katsina Job Summary To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential function with or without reasonable accommodation. The midwife should use universal hygienic and newborn caring standards and will work under the supervision of a specialist doctor to ensure their health conditions and avoid complications pre-pregnancy, during pregnancy, delivery, and post-delivery. Provide maternal and newborn health services for women of all ages, including obstetric and newborn care to pregnant women and their babies, according to International Medical Corps obstetrical and maternal and newborn health protocols. Main Tasks and Responsibilities: Conduct safety audits at the community level Attend IMC and other requested trainings and meetings when available or requested in coordination with VAWG Program Officer and/or Program Manager. Organize focus group discussions on relevant information when needed. Contribute and regularly update service mapping of service providers within the area of intervention to ensure that VAWG caseworkers are informed of all relevant and available services. Engage men and boys within the VAWG-IMC Program and promote equal treatment regardless Of sex. Plan and conduct psycho-social support sessions to beneficiaries at the Women and Girls Safe Spaces (WGSSs), the primary health care centers, the community centers and outreach field level. Plan, monitor, and follow up the work of outreach volunteers in the field Prepare and submit reports and documentation for activities in a timely manner and report directly to VAWG-Officer. Ensure safe identification and referral for beneficiaries including VAWG survivors to the VAWG case managers. Promote and introduce the International Medical Corps (IMC) integrated approach to VAWG services to institutions, centers, Primary Health Care centers (PHCs) and individuals. Conduct any other programmatic activity as requested by the VAWG officer Identify opportunities for awareness raising, whether at a community center or other safe space. Reporting: Ensure the implementation and continuity of antenatal and postnatal care, healthy timing and spacing of pregnancies, safe delivery services, emergency obstetric and newborn care (BEmONC and CEmONC), essential newborn care, STI management,. Ensure daily data quality on ANC, admission, delivery, PNC, healthy timing and spacing of pregnancies, OPD and discharge registration, proper documentation of referral cases, and strengthen linkages. Ensuring hygiene and sterilization criteria (including universal precautions) are met. Perform other duties as assigned.
